In his letter from July 8, 1974, the zodiac signed or ended it,
THE RED PHANTOM ( RED WITH RAGE). Which could also be written or thought of as: THE RED PHANTOM ( RED WITH RAGE) IN PARENTHESE I believe this held a taunting clue, revealing personal information about the Zodiac in the form of an anagram. It rearranges to read : GEE HE , I RENTED A HOME WITH THE PARENTS, AN' RR P Arthur Leigh Allen did indeed live with his parents in Vallejo, CA. and he also had a trailer outside of town where he abused young boys. The way the statement is phrased, it is almost as if two independent enties did the renting. ' He and I' , Arthur and the Zodiac ?? It aint Voynich, but few things are Kotah |

Holy apophenia batman, someone thinks they are Alexander Edward Crowley's scrambled moonchild with Robert Anton Wilson!
By the way Arthur Leigh Allen was linked to Zodiac by circumstantial evidence and is considered a false lead by most investigators these days. Graysmith pushed the hardest to connect him for his own book. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Leig......iac_case |

Yes indeed ein doppleganger, I do love to look for connectiions real or perceived.
Thankfully we are all entitled to our own opinion. Obviously we differ on the Zodiacs identity. Nancy Earp among others feel I am wrong as well. I was simply giving an example of how my mind makes conections cetween different things, The man is dead and so the point is moot. I may indeed be an apopheniac, but you didn't have to mock me batman just to say you disagreed. Who do you like as the Zodiac and why? Or are you a Tom Voigt desciple, and feel a stack of pancakes holds a clue to his identity? So glad I posted, only to have someone else I do not know mock and discredit me. You're right, I am wrong. Happy now !? Kotah |

If no one made connections in apparently meaningless and random data, we would still be eating our food raw and hunting with tree branches. Check out the movie Quest for Fire to see how easy life would be.

In a nutshell I just find the thread about Voynich bordering on absurd. The "connections" are tenuous at absolute best but you would think it was the Delphi oracle speaking by the responses it inspired among the regulars.
But hey, I don't want to rain on your parade. You guys go on believing you are onto something here. |

We are on to something here--it is called Creative Thinking.
Sure, it may be absurd, and tenuous--so what? It is also creative brainstorming and jazz-rif-style storytelling and we enjoy watching an imaginative and original brain at work. It does not need to be "true" to be of great interest and enjoyment, you are misreading to think these posts are ment to be some new belief system. The efforts of Kotah to look at this text in a new bizarre way are appreciated here. We don't mind the odd and offbeat thoughts, which often stimulate new and even better ideas for magical presentation. I would never claim to great success in writing and performing original routines--but I have written a few I am proud of. My odds are probably 30 or 40 flops to one successful idea. I hope, ein_doppelganger, your ratio is better. I did hear Buckminister Fuller--one of last century's greatest inventors--give a talk, in which he gave the audience the secret of his success as "go out and make as many mistakes as you can, as soon as possible!" Quite a few authors of original work have checked in on this thread-anyone else want to share their Failure/success ratio for their efforts? |

Fair enough, you have a point regarding your intentions with the thread. In any case I apologize to those involved especially Kotah. I was out of line.

Hello ein dopplehanger, your apology to all of us is truly appreciated. It takes a big man to apologize here on the forum. I go on these crazy quests just for the fun of it. I guess it takes a good conspiracy theory to keep me sane . AT least it forces me to think in different directions. In magic and in life I have failed many times. Perhaps I am still seeking that one big break through success. Just for fun, consider the zodiac's obcession with the number 17. Seventeen letters in the lines of his cipher, in his address, his parents names, and in the names of the majority of his victims with the exception of Cheri Jo Bates. Is that part of the reason her murder was so brutal?
Just putting that out there, because that is what I do. Kotah |

Kotah,
Thank you Kotah! I know the feeling, pattern seeking on the level of obsessive compulsive is one of my personal demons : )My mind will often get entrenched in Gematria and the mystical Kaballah and its correspondences. that's one can of worms which can drive you batty. I also remember reading an article in a book called Apocalypse Culture which examined the names of the victims of various serial killers looking for patterns. If I recall correctly an unusual number had repeating initials... strange. Does it mean anything or are little hiccups where the randomness goes away fingerprints of a designer? Cheers! |
