Glen, that's ironic that you should ask that. I have recently been trying to think of a trick that I could use to illustrate faith without using a prop or routine that I already use for another topic.

I've been thinking of using "crazy mans handcuffs". That's more of a close-up routine though and probally not fitting for stage.

I have used the "Falling Cup" (marketed at one time by Ickle Pickle) although I've made a few over the last couple of years. It's really more of a science principal at work - but is dressed up as a magic trick. The audience watched as a ceramic cup on a string is dropped by the spectator but is suddenly and unexpectedly stopped.

You can make one by following the instructions here: http://www.sciencemuseumgifts.com/EOTM/E......rce.aspx

Just substitute the pencil for a wooden wand. Have kids place different things in the cup before it's dropped.... I'll let your creative juices flow from there.

I like to use the chair suspension. Talking about how Faith is trusting that God will do what He says.

I tell the helper, if they will just have a little faith that nothing will go wrong, and trust what I tell them to do, something amazing will happen.

I do the effect and while they are suspended from the chair, I snap a picture of them (more expensive now with Poloroids costing so much) and give it to them at the end. The message being...we can do amazing things when we put our trust in one who knows. It is shared that I of course know how to make this amazing balance happen...but only God knows how to help bring real balance in our own lives...and it begins by trusting Him and doing what He tells us to do. And that's what faith is all about.

If I remember correctly, Barry Mitchell's Moo Masher comes with a faith related routine. I've used it a few times for our kids at church, and it seemed to play very well.
