You know you could ask theory11 to send all of us that got screwed over a copy of this new version. That would be nice seeing as we gave you our money and waited months for something that never arrived. And we never recieved the replacement shipments, or as you called it the "free gift", you said we'd recieve when you told us you'd "refund" our money. That certainly would be a nice/professional thing to do. And at least we know that when theory11 says it has "shipped" something to us, we know we'll recieve it.
Just a thought. |

The effect sounds fabulous! I also own the Finn john gimmick also and this served me well for many years. I no longer smoke now and hate the smell let alone the taste of ciggys! This tool sounds like it will be useful. The added onus is that it could be done indoors without stinking the place out.
A Positive review or re review from the satisfied customers out there would look great. The place could do with a bit of airing out. Anyone |

I have had the effect for a while now and I use it all the time. First off, the gimmick lasts forever. I havent had to use any of the refills yet and I use shmoke practically every day. There's a lot of applications for it. Alan doesn't give you too many but enough to get you started. The rest is really up to your imagination. Sometimes I use it in conjunction with a coin vanish, sometimes I use it just to produce smoke from my mouth and freak out my friends. It's a really cool utility tool to own. The gimmick is well concealed and no one would ever question you when you are doing the "load". I really think this was worth the money and it's unfortunate that this situation everyone is in now has arose. I do urge anyone else who is not phased by this thread, go and try the new Shmoke from theory11. Im sure it's even better than this one and that's actually saying a lot.

Just some quick thoughts about PayPal. It might be possible that due to "security reasons", they decided to cancel/delay the refunds. I had an issue in my early PayPal times when several options have been NOT available when transfering money. Asking about the reasons I was told that there are several security checks responsible for that and maybe loads of refunds within a small period of time look suspicious to PayPal, but I don't know for real.
For the rest there is nothing more that needs to be said, I guess. Like some other guys here I am still waiting for the initial sent item and replacement #1 and #2 like I was told. Ok, I'm not - but I have my refund. I guess I was the first one with the refund and for me it took about 7 days at PayPal, dunno why PayPal has made this refund pending. I am a little confused about the timeline of v1 and v2!?!? Is it like v2 was already finished when v1 was still being sold (... waiting for parts for the replacements from singapore ...)? I'm just wondering with which parts the v2s have been assembled and I think recording and authoring of a DVD will take some time as well. Just cannot sort the pieces for myself. Let's see how things go with v2 - I ordered mine at T11 as I really like the idea and the effect. Replacing the business part from Alan with T11 I really think it might work this time BTW for me v2 wouldn't be much more expensive as v1 with standard shipping option, but I like certified mail (did I already mention that somewhere? *lol). So I've chosen the little more expensive option. Additionally there is this additional DVD and therefore I think v2 is almost the same price as v1 was or better said "would have been". regards - Ralph |

V2 came out rather quick, didn't it? That's what makes me wondering. First I thought v2 would be the result of all that trouble that v1 caused in the last weeks, but now as it is available really short (about three weeks) after being announced by Alan there is a completely different picture in my mind. I'm with Alan when it comes to taking chances when they pop up, so I don't blame him for that. He's sharing his magic ideas with us for a living, keep that in mind please. The only thing I really dislike is/was the way he has been handling that issue with v1. Slow response times, few to none information and evading to answer some "spicy" questions, all that put a dark cloud above that. It all was a matter of Alan's "communication policy" - not his ideas or items, which are still great IMHO. I think we all (including Alan) learned out lessons, didn't we? I'm pretty sure that you will get your refund as the BPO is not involved here I'm looking forward to receiving my v2 this week, I'll let you know. |

Looks like Alan made the deal to mass market this and then came on The Café to sell the prototypes he had leftover before it got released. It would have been classy to tell us this, but he didn't want to hurt his personal sales. Being deceitful, the chickens came home to roost for him.
Brilliant prop, just disingenuous marketing of it.

Review King, enough with your empty accusations. Alan had no idea there would even be an offer to mass produce this with Theory 11 when he was releasing/planning on releasing this product. The opportunity came AFTER. Theory11 saw this product and offered to buy the rights because they have the fundage to buy and make the gimmicks in bulk. Do you just look for something to cause conflict over? Stop being rude and stop spreading rumors that can hurt other people. Have some respect. Like my mother says, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. Maybe you should start living by that. But then of course you wouldnt have your 14140 post count now would you? Alan is a great guy and a great magician and just because something really unfortunate happened to him, you don't need to gang up on him and make up false reasons as to why this is happening other than to what he said. He's doing everything that he can to make this right and he told me he can't even enjoy his own first big release at T11 because of what's going on here. It's not fair of you to say what you are saying about him and I think everyone would really appreciated it if you stopped and contributed when you have something constructive to share rather than something that will only dig someone deeper into a hole they are already in.

Ignoring the extraneous BS...
Alan, thanks for updating me and everyone else who is hanging waiting on that refund. I know dealing with this sux for you, holding on the phone, getting switched around from person to person AND going to your "day job" as well! I'm confident that you are doing everything you can to get this resolved and I want to thank you for that. Hank |

A nice way to solve this
Whoever wants can participate. The guys who didn't get refund gets a special "code"/"discount code" or "whatever called" to spent at theory11 for v2 of shmoke. In that way nobody looses except for people like us who have to pay a huge shipping fees. As long as I am assured to receive the Shmoke V2, I am on for this game IF not... |

That would work if I did not already order Smoke V.2 from Theory 11. Seeing as how that would not benefit me I want my money refunded.

SO I had a chat with Alan and it seems he's working really hard to get stuff done. He's juggling a full time job etc, along with trying to work out these problems. He's not doing nothing about it so sit tight.
It's really not hard to reach Alan. His full details are on the bottom of his site, his tele is even there.. I've even been able to reach him on facebook. Sit tight guys |
