I figured since there was a Hulk thread, why not a CA2 Thread..... so here it goes:
DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. It was really really terrible. It catered to the lowest common denominator and was basically 2 hours of Sexual Puns and the 3 girls doing unrealistic moves in skimpy clothing. The only good part of the movie was watching Bernie Mac. Every other conversation was one of the girls talking about sex without really talking about it...("You are the cock, well I am the Beaver!"or"When they are so big I like to ride them really long and hard, and then I'm wet for hours!!!") The action scene's, while having a lot of eye candy were completly unreastic, many moves / shots were captured from the matrix, except the matrix had the excuse that they were in a computer. They overused "bullet-time" and had the girls in bikini's every other second. It's predictible and rather boring to watch. And they said that diamonds can't be made, only found(WHICH IS FALSE). Now I know what your thinking, maybe I only like intelletual movies and I can't dumb myself down and enjoy this movie, but I'm sorry to say that this movie really isn't that good. Go see Dumb and Dumberer or even 2fast 2furious before seeing this bomb. Without giving too much away, here is the movie in short: Girls in Bikini's, Action scene that couldn't happen in real life, Girls talking about sex, repeat x5 for 2 hours. |

I caught a few minutes of the first one on TV once. It was only a few minutes, but I still felt like I lost a lot of brain cells. I don't know why these women would subject themselves to this just for money, but it's sad. I know you're supposed to abandon your intelligence and enjoy movies like this for what they are (mindless entertainment) but try as I might, I just can't get my intelligence that low.

After seeing the first film I have deicided that the I will not see the second one cause it so SOO BAD! I think maybe it was because they made them appear to tough and I don't like seeing women tough. The idea of the film was ok but not worth my money. I cried at the film because I will never get that $6.50 back.

If you take into account all the money people will spend to see this movie on its opening weekend (well into the millions) and the amount that went into funding it (well into the millions), advertising it (millions), etc. just imagine how much more useful that money could have been if instead it were given to charity, or used to fund education, or feed the hungry or shelter the homeless, or something else important. Can you imagine? Just a weird little thought that crept into my brain.

Mark, that is soo true, its things like this that make me sick. Look how much $$$$ Basketball and Baseball players get. Now love baseball and well basketball... that's not even a sport but They don't deserve there $8 million dollars they get a year. They are soo luckey to have a job that they love sooo much and on top of that they get paid millions and millions. Does anyone else think this is wrong.

If I can, I'll play devil's advocate and mention that salaries are usually done by the availibility of the people that can do the job.
Very few people can play baseball at a major league level, and very few can put together and make a large movie and act in it. On the other hand, no matter how deserving, teachers and cops and firefighters can be done by a large percentage of the population. If these jobs paid really well, just think about how many more people would want to become teachers and cops and firefighters? there would be an overflow and finding GOOD teachers would be really hard because every joe schmoe would get into teaching for the money. Just like the baseball, you want your team to win, so you get the best players, but some other team will pay more for a player so THEY can win, because that player is one of the only good pitchers / hitters in the game. So the price keeps going up because the teams can afford it from all the ticket sales and advertising. I still feel that sure starts should get paid less and real workers should get paid more, but just think what would happen to our country if that actually happened. |

I think the country should never have let that happen... Yes if it happened now people would be mad but this they should have thought of before. And teachers??? more money... they get the whole summer off. Benefits so much government stuff its unbeleivable. I think they are fine with what they make. But that's just what I think.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think cops and firefighters should make millions of dollars.
But I do think that it says something about our priorities in the U.S. when a guy who does a very dangerous job barely gets by, while someone else makes millions for playing a GAME. |

They may have, by accident of birth, been granted the POTENTIAL to excel at athletics, but there wasn't much "luck" at play in them becoming professional athletes. These guys get to where they are by working harder at their sport than most people will work at ANYTHING in their lifetime. As for their salaries, they're paid precisely what the market will bear. If teams lost money paying salaries like this, they wouldn't do it. The players themselves pay enormous amounts in taxes and the whole system of sports entertainment in this country is responsible for an enormous amount of jobs and billions of dollars in the economy. Like it or not (and this is not a knock on firefighters, whom I have enormous respect for) athletes contribute more to the economy than firefighters do, and as a result it's a more lucrative field. The role of "luck", however, is minimal Paul (who will probably still see Charlies Angels 2 specifically FOR the bikinis, action, and innuendo)

I have to disagree with all you guys, I thought this film was OK. Yeah some stunts scenes were pretty stupid, but I thought it was worth the money watching the women and Bernie Mac. I have to say that the 1st movie is way way bettter, but this one wasn't a terrible film.

Man...I am soooo scared that people actually enjoyed it. Especially when those 3 women are in it.
To put it lightly, they are not the most attractive fish in the sea. If I was out in the ocean and caught them, I'd definetely have to throw them back! Chris |

Yup.
it bothers me that anyone liked this movie. I just watched charlie's angels at a friends house, and we all enjoyed it. It is scary to think about how bad the sequal is compared to the first. Honestly, they took the first script and copied it, every single scene is the same with different characters. Lets see: They played strippers to get access cards. They Blew up the office. A good guy turned out to be bad. They acted like the girls got killed but really didn't. Tons of sex puns. Too much of the girls having fun on camera, "Because they are really good friends in real life too, and act like this and have slumber parties all the time!!! really!!!!" yeah, sure. Need I go on? Terrible movie. |

Yeah, I also don't like seeing women tough. Of course, I don't like seeing men tough either.

He just doesn't like seeing women tough, he didn't say whether women COULD be tough.
Its just like me saying I don't like women to be really obese, that doesn't make me a sexist I don't think... Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill. He didn't put down women, he just gave his personal preference of the type of woman he finds attractive. |
