Good for busking? As a zero experience person, it looks great to me, but...
http://www.stevensmagic.com/index.php?ma......d=111779 Cube + Table = Qble! The latest creation from the product engineers at Spider is sure to serve a niche in magic and related arts for years to come. Spider Products Germany is synonymous with exceptional quality and design. The idea behind product development at Spider is to create seamless products that naturally blend with other spider products, but at the same, stand-alone independently. Whether you already own a spider backdrop or table - or this is your first purchase of a Spider product - you will be equally served well. This new Qble is a streamlined device that does double-duty as both a table and a storage space. The Qble comes in two different styles (Basic and Compact) - this page represents the Basic Qble. The tabletop, shield and shelf are foldable. The framework breaks down to 1 meter (39") (99cm) long The Qble sets up in less than a minute. Everything packs small and unfolds quick and easy. There are no tools or screws involved. The cube is closed on three sides and open on the back. This provides an optimum compartment for all the props you need during your act. Use it to pick-up loads or to get rid of gimmicks whenever you need to. The large Tabletop (20"X20") is covered with carpet and makes a great working surface. The Qble is very sturdy and supports amazing loads of up to 100 lbs (50Kgs) - though it weighs only 12 (6 Kgs) pounds. The Qble basic is suited with lockable casters and the tabletop connects magnetically to the frame (pretty cool). If desired, (SME/SPIDER) can make your Qble custom sized without extra charge! You choose the height between 39" (99cm) and 32" (80cm) so it fits perfect to your personal needs - Allow 2-3 weeks for fabrication. Qble Product Specifications: Maximum height 39" (99cm) Transport length 39" (99cm) Transport width 10" (25cm) Weight 12 lbs (6 Kg) 12 lbs Size tabletop 20" X 20" (50X50cm) Tabletop cover Black carpet black carpet Cube size 16x16x16" (40X40X40cm) Total height 32"-39" (80-99cm) Colour options cube: Black or Blue

It doesn't look nearly sturdy enough to me.
The wheels look, uh, out of place for a busking table. Looks more like a very expensive side table. I vote no. Especially for the price.

I agree with Frank. Doesn't look like a good fit for outdoor use. If you took off the casters it might make a good one for an indoor gig or trade show. But if you were in a trade show booth you could probably have something a bit sturdier at very little additional expense to your host.

If the German guy comes with the table, I'm in!
Seriously, not for the busker, not for me, ever. But someone else perhaps. I have a Spider Stagate Backdrope, that is a piece of beauty and perfection. But their stuff is made for stage work. /Ark

A noble attempt at niche marketing guys, but it's too light, it's too small, it's not height-adjustable, and the wheels don't fit at all. The price doesn't deter me the same as others, but for $300 I would need a table that ticked all the boxes as though it were custom designed for my busking lifestyle, instead of a side table that someone is trying to pawn off on me because they have excess inventory. We're picky, guys, and we know what we like and we know what works (and what doesn't), and we can tell from just looking at the pix.

I have seen this table, in my mind in the open air it will make a great kite.
Perhaps indoors but not the open elerments. If they lost the skirt around it that acts as place to dump props perhaps the wind will then whislte through it. For example Owen Lean he uses spider legs with no go faster wheels and attaches a breife case to the top of it. That has worked for him for years. |

Qwen's use of his spider frame table and briefcase is very funny.
It really does have to be seen to be believed. |
