I need recommendations on some good poker tricks. I like the Power of Poker in John Bannon's Bullet After Dark. Also Luke Jermay's 10 Card Poker Deal. Or the one Andrew Murray did in his "Thirteen" DVD, I think it's called Master Poker Deal.
Any other good poker deal trick? Between 10 to 20 cards are good. Oh, perhaps the one without complicated-and-need-10-years-to-practice sleights. Thanks.

Aldo Colombini seems to have a good one. Just go to his site and look it up.

Although it is not a Poker deal per se, I suggest you take a look at Up the Ante by Martyn Smith. The routine has a clever gambling theme and is very easy to perform (there are no moves involved, but the ability to false shuffle does improve the effect).
There is also a great poker demo in The Dai Vernon Book of Magic/Early Vernon called The Vernon Poker Demonstration. This one is probably my favourite. Vernon also has a routine in Inner Card Trilogy where you deal blindfolded! Unsurprisingly, the routine is called Blindfold Poker Deal. Hope this helps, Marty |

I'd recommend Richard Vollmer's "242 Deal" from Magic magazine (and Josh Jay's DVD set "Talk About Tricks").

And my original 10-card poker deal routine out of Deck-Sterity. Both are in Lorayne: The Classic Collection, Volume 1. HL.

Dobber, Just looked up the Lorayne Poker Deal you suggested. A powerful, easy routine beautifully scripted by Harry. Thanks for the tip, and thanks, Harry. John

You really don't know? If so, you really haven't been into card magic very long, or very "close," have you? CUCM stands for CLOSE-UP CARD MAGIC. RM - Reputation-Makers; D-S - Deck-Sterity; RS - Rim Shots; QL - Quantum Leaps; TS - Trend Setters; MW - Mathematical Wizardry; BOF - Best Of Friends; TCC - The Classic Collection, and so forth. HL. (Stands for Harry Lorayne.)

You don't have to look too far. It's in the Close-Up Magic Section of Lorayne: The Classic Collection, Volume 1. Just go to my magic website - listed under this post, with the word "magic" in it and click on "Magic Books." HL.

Failed Magician,
Both of the Lorayne "poker deal" routines are two of the best you'll find, no matter where you look (at least I think so). CUCM is an excellent book and one of my favorites of all time so you would do well to purchase it or the Classic Collection, Vol. 1. There is much more to love than just the poker deals in CUCM. I don't think you will be disappointed in these. That being said, you'll also find some interesting ideas in Scarne on Card Tricks. |

Stewart James had a number of good poker deal routines which were pretty much all self working. "Pokericulum" is one that springs to mind but he came up with some even better ones. If you have his books look for them.
David Regal's "Ten Second Poker" is also excellent and can be found in "Close Up and Personal". Paul. |

Honestly, when the first time I know some Poker tricks, I told myself that the chance for finding the better one is very unlikely. But seeing the reply here, I can't help myself to start collecting Poker tricks.
Thanks Mr Lorayne for your recommendation, I will try to find those you're recommending.

Thanks Harry, but I think I have to wait. With international shipment, it will cost me almost half of my monthly salary. Can't do that, gotta think for my two kids
Maybe one time someone will sell the second-hand for a fair price for me.

I am not very sure, I think there is a routine in royal road to card magic using the same principle of Lorayne's Poker Deal.
But it is a full deck rountine. It is not like Luke Jermay's 10 Card Poker Deal. And I think luke's routine use the same principle of Lorayne's 10-card poker in Deck-Sterity Quote:

In case you're still looking, Amazon has CUCM for $22 (from Magic Geek). You'll find a few really good routines in there in Lorayne's Poker Deal and Little Fella, Big Fella among other stuff. |
