I'm studying computer science at my university and have some web design experience, and I'm looking for more. Most of my experience is on the technical side, making sites that do things, and less of it is on making sites look good, but like I said, I'm looking for more practice.
I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but I'm willing to help. |

Not sure if I can help you or not since Im "old school" and not highly technical for sure but I do a few websites.
http://PeteBiro.com http://MFBTW.com http://BambooChopCup.info http://Sefalaljia.com http://HeliFire.com http://PoindexterRealty.com http://TuckersAirMuseum.com http://TabbyCrabb.com http://FlatwoodStudio.com and a number of others but my work is pretty simple and I'd imagine you're looking for something more modern. Good luck with your project and if I can help in some small way, then let me know.

You know a true real good web designer who knows HTML, DHTML, CGI, PHP, javascript, CSS, etc will run you about $100,000 but it's worth it.
I've been in the software development business for 22 years as Tabby and Pete can tell you. Hire the best qualifed, or you get crap. |

Web design skills are not at all the same as Graphic Design skills.
You need both in order to look professional. I have seen great graphic design with terrible interactivity, and great interactivity with poor design. I am a graphic designer but know little to nothing about web page building. Sorry for the rant, I realize you did not ask for all this. Good luck with your project.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Layout using HTML tables are so 1990's. CSS/MySql/php is the way to go, keep it dynamic!

Honestly, I had to take a little umbrage with your comment about "you get cr*p" (see above) and it saddened me to see you seem to put everyone who isn't as smart as you down. Nothing personal, that's just the way it struck me. I have no idea about the others who PM'd Ben but I tend to do things in the open. Im sure they are all great and knowledgable. Im just a cowboy and was offering my help to Ben just to help. I have no idea but if he pays you a hundred grand for doing his website you are a bigger magician than I will ever be.

I recently had to fix a load of issues with a site whose main architect of 15 yrs in the industry thought it was a good idea to forgo unit testing, and best practices. Refactoring? forget it. That site hadn't seen a refactor until I got there. It doesn't cost 100K to build a smaller website such as I predict this to be. Not even close. |
