It says "earn big dollars"
before the $60-80 range. Maybe they left off a couple of zeros??? And they'll train you to do all these things, no experience needed, just a good attitude. Wonder how many guys get "excellent" tips after an hour show? They’ll no doubt get bookings and water down some part of the market. This shows the utter disregard magic is held in by many promoters. Hey George,
I'm never offended by these ads. In fact, I kinda like 'em. We can take advantage of their lack of professionalism and skill. I wrote about how to take advantage of them in April of last year. It's a technique called "Elevation". Although it talks about Susan Boyle, just hang with it and WHEN YOU GET TO THE END YOU'LL SEE HOW IT RELATES. Here's the blogpost: http://rebelentertainer.blogspot.com/200......yle.html Life's too short to be bothered by these little inconveniences. John Abrams Rebel Entertainer and Elevator |

Hey, John,
Thanks for the link. You make some excellent points. BTW, I wasn't so much bothered by the ad (I don't perform any more), as I was "connecting the dots" after a very pleasant brunch with a few local magicians yesterday. Best, George

There was a local ad around here that advertised $100 parties with a 50/50 split between the agent, and the performer.
I get offers every year for fulltime theme park juggling that pays $350 a week.

If you visit their website, you'll see all kinds of pirated images and copyright costumes, if anyone cared enough to drop a dime on them to Disney or PBS they'd be in court so fast they'd not have time to book gigs.
Small fish, small pond, so not to worry, but thanks for the local FYI George. Wow Al! I'd love to work in a romantic theme park for $350 pass them on to me, I'm sure I can learn to juggle in a week or so. Magically, Walt |
