Hi Mike
Yea the absolute best one day magic convention in the United States is back, and I have marked my calendar.

You always, always, always out do every other magic convention on the east coast, and I know you are holding back some great surprises for us this year. Is it David Copperfield, or Lance Burton?

Please don't start no rumor like that.
I would love to get Lance. But not for Kutztown.

Al,
as a member of the comittee to organize (and pay) for this convention, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE TODD ANY IDEAS.

I am sure most people would have a laugh being a fly on the wall of our meetings. At this point it's almost, if you are a big magician we have talked about.

This will be another great year, the convention is a blast every November.

Hey Al , when I bring up names to the guys they always say " Todd you sure dream big" and then they say your nuts.
I already said how about getting Lance, Mac, Penn and Teller on the same bill. Ryan and Mike always bring me back down to earth. LOL

Most other east coast magic conventions get old fogies that I never heard of, but you spend the bucks to get the big acts. I can't wait.

Al , I got to say thank you .
I really appreciate it and I'm sure the guys on the committee thank you too.
It's a lot of hard work. Not that many people give us the kind words that you do. They usually like to complain what they didn't like. I learned I can't please everybody. Now some people give positive feedback for me to improve the convention like Rich B. and Mark Reed. But I actually had a guy complain about the dessert one year, there was a guy last year that complained about John Carney's lecture saying using a knife for a paddle move is for beginners, there was a guy who complained that two magicians used the same line, I actually had a few people say the convention is a little pricey??????
I could go on and on but the best complaint I had was (I won't mention his name, but you guys know who he is)" I shouldn't have to pay, do you know who I am? I never pay to attend a convention , I'm a VIP"
It's very frustrating but at the end it's worth it, especially with your kind words.

Between you , Dick & Dorothy Dietrich I thank you very much

There is not a single magic convention on the east coast that books the kind of talent that you do, and it comes as a shock to me that everybody doesn't tell you that.

I loved telling this person he had to pay full price.

I usually make about 2 enemies per convention, someone has to be the bad guy.

Did I coin that phrase?

Todd

Ryan
Do you remember?

I'm not looking for anything in return, but it does have a familiar ring to it.

I'll be there again this year. As most people know, Todd and his committee always do a fantastic job and somehow get the best talent on the same bill with food included for a nominal convention fee. I wish I knew the secret...that's the real magic.
