I do no palm with the JOL plus wallet, as well as the envelope. There are times when performing you need to repeat without the place to do it! I love the JOL, as I do number of other wallets. ( I have many... ok a lot, but not enough!)The quality of leather is one of the key elements here that should be mentioned. The one I have is unsurpassed in workmanship.
Tony makes wonderful wallets as well that are great as everyday, and amazing tools for deception. |

Quote 'The JOL products are really great, I have several items to keep my close-up magic in order. That said, I still prefer my Mullica Wallet for "card to wallet". The reason being that the Mullica is a plain wallet (the outside can be freely shown, and is plain leather all around), whereas the JOL wallet has an outside pocket. Now, that is something I've never seen on a regular wallet.
Of course, it all comes down to personal preference, but the Mullica wallet allows you to perform a "no palm" card to wallet, which is incredibly deceptive. The performer's palm is openly shown to the spectators as you reach for the wallet - and on a downbeat, the load is achieved. In my opinion, not only the simplest, but the STRONGEST card to wallet. But every magi should consider the "coin tidy", and the excellent selection of card wallets for packet tricks. These not only make your job so much easier, but provide a very professional look. In terms of value, they are absolutely unbeatable. Some of the best close-up magicians swear by the JOL wallet, including Martin Sanderson....so please realise that this is just my opinion. But I'll be staying with my Mullica Wallet, unless I want to perform "card to wallet in sealed envelope" - then, it's the JOL wallet, without question. Doug' Hi Doug, Just for information, I perform Darwin Ortiz's 'Pick Up On South Street' (Card Shark P70)and use the 'no palm" feature of the JOL Wallet and this works a treat for me. All the best Mike |

Got my JOL wallet today, small size with DVD and extras. I havent had much of a chance to look at it yet but all I can say is QUALITY !!! My goodness, what quality.
I have had many wallet for daily use which cost in excess of this wallet yet were far below the leather standard that the JOL offers. Now that is incredible !

If you send an email to David Bonsall ( david@fingertipmiracles.co.uk ), he can hook you up with specially made envelopes that precisely fit this wallet, for the signed-card-to-sealed-envelope effect.
Now appearing nightly in my basement.

Does the JOL Plus/Large or any version have "flaps" to assist in the load/envelope? I recently purchased Anthony Owen's "Natural Lottery" and am having a heck of a time with the wallet, which (according to the advert) is The JOL New Large Plus Wallet...please pm me with thoughts about this, and I'll tell the whole story...

I have one of the original JOL wallets which just does the normal card to wallet (ie: no palm free or envelope options) I think this must be 20 years old but still looks good and works perfectly with an instant reset. Interestingly the late Pat Page's opinion was that card to wallet was sufficient any additions like inside an envelope or id case or banded was unnecessary and did not increase the spectators surprise.

I've narrowed my search down to 3 wallets which all have their pro's & cons for me:
JOL Small Plus - PROS: Id & envelope feature, p*** no p***, excelent quality. CONS: Too big. JOL Hip Billfold PROS: Everyday wallet, size. CONS: No envelope feature, lack of no p***. Outlaw Showdown - PROS: Extremely versatile, can perform CTW & mentalism, everyday wallet. CONS: Unsure if quality is similar standard to JOL. Decisions Decisions Decisions!!! |

Hi , I would just like to ask the experienced magician out here with the JOL plus wallet.
Can I do the signed card-in-sealed-envelope-in-wallet effect, with the JOL wallet in my back pocket? In other words is it possible to load the card into the envelope in the wallet, while its in the pant's back pocket the entire time? Because coats and jacket is really uncommon in my country. Any reply/help will be appreciated, tks!! |

I am on my second small plus wallet. It took me ages to get hold of my first one, then went and sold it, to try others of the same `ilk`.
I have had a whole range of wallets, but the reason is obvious why I went back to the JOL ones. Quite simply, IMHO they beat the rest hands down. Use it as my everyday wallet, and it never lets me down.
Pick A Card, Any Card.

Hi,
I suppose you could use it in your back pocket, but keep in mind that the JOL-large or small-is going to stick way out of your back pocket. You may not want to use it for regular use, which is a nice feature of gimmicked wallets that fit your wardrobe style. The JOL line released a hip-style wallet, which you may want to track down.
