Folks, as you can see, I'm fairly new here. Unfortunately I didn't read all the rules and jumped right into the forums. Now, after having read all the rules of etiquette, I see that I haven't complied in two places and have corrected them. I thought I'd be funny by putting a picture of me as a baby in my avatar because in fact, I am a baby to magic. My name Bob1Dog reflects my real name, Bob, and the fact that my one and only dog whom I loved for 17 years is no longer with us, and so my name reflects my love for my 1 dog. That stays. And I do realize that my Einstein quote probably isn't nice and may offend some folks, so I removed it. I'll do better. I really like this place and don't want to do anything that offends anyone. As for the late night posts, I gotta tell y'alls, I do most of my thinking late at night, and sleep most of the day (I'm retired!) because I worked nights for most of my life....That all said, thanks to the many here who have already helped me a whole lot! My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

What a great post Bob. So sorry to hear about your faithful friend, they are just like family. Wouldn't it be great if ALL posters had your same attitude. For the most part there are allot of helpful and friendly people here on the Café.

Welcome Bob.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Welcome. I never saw any of the supposedly offensive things you refer to doing, but I have a hard time believing they could be that offensive if this post is any indication of your character.

It is an often annoying part of Internet forums (and to some extent life in general) that some people are just looking to get offended. Personally, it's just not ever worth it to go out of my way not to offend these kinds of people.

Personally, I'm curious as to this highly offensive Einstein quote. Smile

Bryan, Happy to oblige:

The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits--Albert Einstein

Bryan,Dave and Professor, thanks!

If being offensive were to incur jail time and that quote was deemed offensive then I would be sentenced to life without parole.

Only stupid people that quote refers to would be offended.
I am getting so tired of slitting the throats of people who say that I am a violent psychopath.

Just to clear things up, no one deemed my quote offensive on the Forum, but after reading the rules of etiquette, I figured someone would sooner or later find something to say about it. So I cut 'em off at the pass. My call; no one else. It's the way of the world these days. People easily offended, that is. O-o-o-o-ps, better stop before I get too political! Best, Bob

I suspect mine may not be a favorite here, but only by a handful. No one has said anything, possibly because of the combination of the source and the truth of the statement.

I think you'll find most of the people here to be an odd combination of laid-back perfectionists who work hard at having fun. Differences in method or philosophy usually give way to a grander purpose of making Magic better for everyone involved.

Welcome to the Café. It’s a great place to be.

Oh, yeah, and I love Einstein quotes as well...
