I haven't used any of it but I saw Tommy Wonder using it wonderfully in his coins across routine. Though I'm a hard core coin guy, I never needed any of them, but now I'm planning to buy. So which one you prefer - Okito box or Boston box, and what are their uses? Thank you.

Get A boston box! Just don't stick a Coin in the botton! Then you can use it as A holdout! I have a big book on stuff like that! P.M. me for Info!

I would look at the O-Korto coin box set from Johnson Magic. It has three boxes - Okito, Boston, and an undersized box - with one lid that fits 'em all. It allows you to try all and it is very affordable.

Consider the David Roth set.
Use the search here for Okito and learn everything you need to know. A reply or explanation of the boxes would be reinventing the wheel waaay over again. It's all good info! And by being that you are a hard core coin guy that did not do Okito coin boxes is saying what about Wonder, Roth, Neighbors, Gallo, Brooke, Chad Long, etc. that do coin boxes? Here is some home research: http://www.geniimagazine.com/forums/ubbt......er/29381 |

Thanks for your help guys.I am going o buy a boston boz and a cheap okitobox .I think sorry that I was'nt clear 'bout the post.I know 'bout their uses but wasn't sure 'bout their differences as boston box wasn't mentioned in BOBO's .Again it is really hard to get quality magic props, dvds in my place and unfortunately I never came across any bostonbox routine dvds .Anyway that was never a problem for me to perform coin magic .Even all the great coin workers rklew64 mentioned have so many routines which can be done without special coins or boxes.

Asgar Good move on deciding to get both boxes. You will enjoy working with both and searching for the things scattered around in the books and magazines for uses of both.

Roth's and Neighbors' work with the boxes is absolute magic! In addition, there really are tons of excellent effects all over the literature featuring Okito, Boston, Slot, German, etc. boxes.
One gold mine I have found in addition to the above books mentioned are magic journals. Except for those that are genre specific such as Bascom Jones MAGICK or Cardiste by Rusduck to name a couple you will find a wealth of material! Oh, and Okito boxes are not just for coin magic either Ahimsa, Vlad |

I've got about 3 dozen coin boxes. Roth, Johnson, Enardoe, Rings 'N Things, etc. just to name a few. My least favorite ones are the "designer" style such as the Chazpro Buddha & Viking (even though I have them). The very best box I ever had was the Dr. Sawa coin box. Dr. Sawa is from Japan and issued these in a very limited edition. You could use it like an Okito box, but with the supplied extras you could do things that you cannot do with any other box. Sadly, I sold mine in ebay a few years ago for around $150. It went back to Japan to a buyer. I would love to have another one.

I'll do that soon. Of course there are a lot of sets now that include the Okito, Boston, Slot, and Plug. When you're adding four at a time, they add up quickly!

Thank you manreb! I just ordered one. I've done searches over the years and never found this site. I really appreciate you help!
--- By the way, one of the things you can do with the Sawa box is show it full of half dollars, take one out (really) and still show it full. This can be repeated three times. After you show it full the last time, you can immediately show it empty. It is a very clever piece of work.
