I finally received mine. One word: wow. I absolutely LOVE it. Jay does a great job on the DVD teaching several handling options and I liked specially that. The gimmick is very well made and it's a thing of beauty. It's very easy to use and the setup is quick. Fits me perfectly. I performed this last night at home, and it passed the wife test. I can't wait to play more with it. Recommended!

Tomacker, I received mine also. Many years ago I purchased from Yuval Keren, his bending forks. From Yves, Psy-Key. Now I own Elite Bending Coin. Everyone has their own opinion regarding the cold feeling, however with a good presentation and and the final result I never had a person every say a word. There's simply too much impact. I was however once at a magic meeting, and at the end of the routine, the magician said , the metal must be cold for this to work. I told him in front of the others that his remarks were very rude. Some of the folks had no idea how the forks possibly could do something like that in somebody's hand besides mine. The theory back then was not well known.
This is very strong magic and I really like it. I say go for it. A bit pricey. If you know the other methods for coin bending and this is not your cup of java that is cool. I know them too, but love watching a persons mouth drop when it happens in their hand. Jerry Foster |

I guess most importantly, failed to mention this. The coin does look real. A bit of changing in the lettering to make it legal to make a coin. Nobody will notice that.

This effect is a winner. I bought some from Gerald at Magic City. This effect is one of the best I have ever seen, especially when it bends in their open palm. There is just not an expalnation to the layman for this.

As with any coin bending device I'm just curious to know how they differ from one another? Is one more natural than another? Any advice?

Got mine today and I am most impressed! Looks like a real coin and handles beautifully. It is everything advertised and this is most welcome and unusual.

It's great to hear these reports that the coin looks and feels real. The other main concern with a prop like this is practicality and reliability of handling: how practical is it to actually carry with you, prepare and use? If anyone who's got it would care to address that, I would be very grateful.
Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

I was also wondering how practical it is to carry around and to reset.

Reset takes about 3-5 min. I am sure there is a way to reset faster. practicality, this is very practical to use. I think best used after a few variations of bends. Easy to carry on you and retrieve when you are ready.

I got mine today and like the others who have it said, this is the real deal. I am amazed with how great it looks. The attention to detail is amazing. The edge of the coin is perfect too.
It does exactly what it says, it just bends in plain view, nothing fishy. These are just my initial observations after handling the coin and watching the DVD. I'll post more once I've had a chance to perform it a bit. The DVD gives easy instructions on how to use the coin in a way that it looks like you are borrowing a coin, you bend it in plain view, and then you switch it for another pre-bent coin so that you can give it away as a souvenir. If you are familiar with magic and mentalism you should be able to come up with many possible ways to do that anyway. Really looking forward to using this. |

I've been playing with mine for a few days, and this KILLS. The fact that you show your bare hands, one coin, no fishy moves, and it bends... it's pure magic. The DVD explains everything you need to know, and the instructions are easy to follow. The coin itself is one of the most ingenious gimmicks I've ever seen. Looks so innocent, and it's so magical. Worth every cent! 10/10.

If you like Elite Bending coin, like I do, you would really love Psi Key by Yves Dominguez. Like Elite coin bend, the key can't be bent by a person. A sturdy strong prop with the same principle. In fact the packaging is fantastic. One receives a small insulated pack to hold the key once it is set. Will hold the quarter too. It hooks to your belt and when you open it, it falls out, hopefully in your hand....

Jay was kind enough to send me a review copy of the Elite Bending Coin and requested an impartial review.
I must say I have always liked the principle the Elite Bending Coin uses and admired Jay's previous work on Phork. Obviously the biggest problem with this kind of method is keeping the prop ready for performance. With Elite, Jay has beautifully solved the problems and come up with an original prop that has no precendent and sits in a class of it's own. The Elite coin will stay prepared nicely until the performer is ready to go. I am almost sorry this was released commercially as it truly is an 'Elite' prop and would have been beautiful to keep as a pure mystery. Jay could probably have sold this exclusively for a huge sum to one of the big names and it may never have seen the light of day as a release. It was fascinating to hear a little bit of the journey Jay had on the way to creating the final Elite coin. Obviously a product like this is not an overnight creation and the end to end process to create each coin is quite amazing in itself! Jay has great determination and persistence and I think all owners and more importantly users of the Elite coin will truly appreciate Jay's incredible efforts to bring out such a premium effect. I wish sooooooooo much it was available in Aussie currency I am almost tempted commission an Australian version!! Ok the coin itself, my first thought was honestly where's the gimmick, all Jay's supplied here is a regular bent coin. Nope that WAS the coin, wow the Elite coin is all you could ask for in a gimmicked prop. I thought there would have to be at least a hint of being a 'special coin' but this thing is better than a bought one! Better still it's the kind of gimmick that is completely un-discoverable and masquarades as something so common it will never be given a second thought when applied in the right context. Jay gives some excellent performance tips and variations. If I ever did perform this (which is unlikely as I live in Australia) I would use the hands free table method. Very nice subtle way to present the effect! One critical aspect to Elite is to do it up close as it is a small area the effect happens in and the closer people are to the action the clearer the initial condition (straight coin) and final condition (bent coin) will be. Without this clarity and chance to directly observe these conditions the effect can still be strong but is more reliant on the reactions of others. Jay has set the bar very high with this release and firmly placed Eureka as a brand to watch for the future of fine magic creation. Cheers, Al

Hi Al
I agree. Loved Phork (I've got three!) and the EBC is great. In a few days I'll send you some effects using it that are a little "out of the box!" Benny
