My gosh... I need to check this more often. I just now realized that you had asked me to post who was at the Faucett Ross Honorary Magi-Fest. Well, I essentially booked most every act that I had wanted to see and meet when I was a kid (I was 18-19 yrs old when I produced this event). Growing up on a farm, I didn't get exposed to a lot of magic... only through Faucett and by reading Genii Magazine.
So, I hired these acts for the convention: Dai Vernon, Charlie Miller, Slydini, Jay Marshall, Marvyn & Carol Roy, Fantasio, Norm Nielsen, Paul Harris, Petrick & Mia, Shimada, John Cornelius, Michael Ammar, Bob Little, Mike Caveney, John Carney.... hmmmmm... I'm going on memory here and it's been almost 30 years! In addition to those acts booked, several other notables showed up... Roger Klause, Danny Dew, and Ross Bertram come to mind. It was really an experience for me! |

DavidSandy:
Roger Klause and I became good friends after that convention and stayed in touch. He introduced me to his friend Frank Price, who treated me like a prince when I visited in Houston. I stayed up with the professor all night two nights in a row, and took Tony Slydini out to dinner, too. You also forgot to mention that Richard Kaufman was there. |
