Hey guys!
I've been hired for a birthday party, for a boy turning 4, and the theme of the party is Disney Cars Any one know of a creative way to incorperate this into the show at all? I thought about going to buy a few little "cars toys" and producing them in a change bag, and since I don't have a big audience, I can hand them out as give-aways at the end of my show! any one else more creative then me... speak up!

Hi, here's a few ideas for you. Some are ones I've used previously for super heroes, animal or rabbit parties.
(1) square circle - throw in car bits (maybe drawn on cards) and pull out cars. Would be good as a running gag. You want to make a red car, throw in the stuff for a red one but pull out green, blue etc (2)Charlie's Invisible Message - force using pictures from "Cars" the movie (3) drawing board - speaking car (4) a race story with magic - maybe use "Hare and Tortoise" from Wonder Imagery (5) dress up the kids in googles and helmets as racing car drivers. Use daft hats like a vikings, woman's flopy coloured hat etc for comedy value. Then into Visible Magic Painting of a car (John Breeds). Draw your own using two pieces of OHP film and an envelope; (5) buy some $1 toy cards of the film characters. Vanish and reveal using Sammy Seal; (6) car colouring book - make your own from white CARD on a PC. I use 27 sheets, 9 are b&w, 9 are coloured. Pictures are from clipart sites. Hope that gets you started.

Maybe better use a Dove Pan to produce the cars.

Car finds the chosen card.
Card is found under the car(or hood) Ventriloquist routine about the characters. Cups from movie used in a chop or cups and balls..(perhaps tires) routine

I did a cars party too and what I did was print off a pic of lightning mcqueen, had the kid come up, swore him in as a magician, gave him a magic wand, had him put the pic in a changebag, waive the wand over the bag and reach in and pull out a lighning mcqueen car. It got a big response from both the kids and the parents.

Awesome!
I Went out and bought a Lightning McQueen Car, and A bunch of Car parts, (tires, a hood, engine, etc) and I plan on building it together with a magic... and a change bag! Is there anything else you did for the show?

Building a car out of parts is a great idea. It might be better in a box you can decorate as a "Garage" than in a change bag. If you don't have something suitable, you can always make a small tip-over box from cardboard and then print the decorations for the exterior (brick walls, etc.)
This leads to the question, how did the car get broken in the first place? There might be a way to have a car "help" you do a trick and fall apart in the process, just like lots of classic kids props...so you have to "fix" it with the garage. Is there a way to instantly/magically wash a car? These characters talk...anything you can do with that? |

I customize my run rabbit run with any character they want. Also could do a visible painting cars but that takes a bit of work, but then you have it forever.
