I think Gold is where you find it - I think that because it is hard to find and hard to get that makes gold have more value. The same thing could be said about magic and magic routines.

I think that there is a lot of gold in the secret sessions forum.

However it may take some work to find it. And some imagination and perhaps some performing experience might help to use the golden idea.

Just a few thoughts and opinion.

I like the basic idea. And I do a blackjack demo that would work very well with this.

I have seen many magicians that do card shark demonstrations start their routine with a stacked deck - or bring in a cold deck and open with a stacked deck routine. Magician Glenn Haywood used to do a gambling expo and was booked quite often in Chicago - in formal close up shows - he used a stacked (cold) deck.

At times I have used a stacked deck routine as an opener - then have the deck shuffled and then go into a demo - and then close with punch work.

Closing with the punch work is great because it comes after the stacked deck stuff and the deck is shuffled and cut by the audience - in the style of the way Jack Pyle worked.

Just a few more thoughts and opinion.

Cheers!

I do a routine where I deal 5 hands five card stud.

All the players ger four of a kind - the dealer gets 4 aces. However as the routine begins it looks like the dealer is going to win because he gets three aces and is beating the other 4 hands.

Then I throw the audience a curve ball - each have 4 of a kind face up on the last deal - the dealer gets an odd card at this time and shows three of a kind. It looks like I blew the hand and I get a good laugh here.

But I turn over the hole card and it is the fourth ace and me as the magician dealer - wins.

As with almost all the poker deals I do - I change the cards and hands - as I said I think that the basic idea is good - however with "all" the stuff I work out I change it.

Just a few more thoughts and opinion.

Cheers!

So now we're talking about any generic poker stack?

Glenn, do you realize this thread is about the Ben Joffe stacks?

Sorry but we're not talking about anything at all. I said all I am going to say about this in my last two posts. I guess you might have to figure things out on your own. Good luck with that - I hope it works out for you.

Cheers!
