Is it safe to use a strong M******* H****** with this set, or can/will it throw off the delicate balance?

That is a good question. I will ask Jamie the next time I talk to him and find out for you.

It has been my experience that using s metal object (in my case a business card holder) in my back pocket works fine as a magnetic hold out/hoo coin. I would bet it's safe to say you can use a magnetic hold out as well.

I have several magnets that have been stored together for probably 20 years or more. I took them out of there box and they still are attracted to each other. Could be that having spent all that time together has caused them to bond. LOL
Seriously, there does not appear to be either an increase or loss of magnetism. |

How does the e[ in this set match with the normal half dollar?

While I had those first, and the dates don't match the set, they're still indistinguishable from each other on casual inspection. The e[ has no problem with any of them either, though I was careful when first testing that out. According to Jamie, (paraphrasing) by design it's not an overly tight tolerance on this set. That said, it's not like there's a lot of slop either. PM me if interested and I'll try to take some pix. |

I spoke with Jamie yesterday and he said that any strong magnetic item should not affect the magnet in the coin. I do know that Heat will cause a magnet to get weaker so don't store your magnetic coins in a place that is very hot.
Hope that helps. TC |

Finally, I became one the OXF owners, too.
Thanks for inigmntoya's generous answers, I am so satisfied with this set. The e[ fit perfactly on four of my ordinary coins. I keep practicing everyday and feel that I am more comfortable with coins around my fingers now. Can't waint to perfect Eric's routine and learn others. |

Received my OxF set today from Jamie Schoolcraft. This is my first schoolcraft gaff (i have a couple of Todd Lassens)and I gotta say, I'm impressed with the work on it. First class machineing. Jamie must have a talanted machineist doing his work. Perfectly balanced and the F....r is almost indetectable as a gaff. I love Eric Jones Oxyclean routine and have been doing it with a standard set for a while and its great done that way, but I think the OxF can be so versatile. Got a copy of dean dills Flip It while I was at it and I'm looking forward to checking that out.
Kind regards Sean |

Another question for OxF owners...
I'm toying with the idea of buying an OxF, since I've always wanted a e[ and a f*****r. Can the e[ be used as a regular e[ or has it been modified to work only with the supplied f*****r? |

The OxF [ works perfectly with regular coins. Get one, you'll love it.
Eric's great DVD set will show you the way.

I agree. Works exactly the same as a standard exp___d s___l with the advantage of being shimmed.

How strong is the magnet in Jamie's OxF gimmick? There is one phase in Eric's routine where the fl----r is held between the fingers and the hand makes a downward movement so the [ pops off. Does the magnet still allow the [ to separate easily?

My OXF is made from WL. For my set, as with many X[ had to go through a large number of coins before finding a set of four that would fit without binding. The set is well made, as is all Jamies gaffs. The only issue I had was with the [/. The teflon caused the insert to be off true. That is it was not flat when closed, very slight elevation. This was waeily solved by removing the disc.
All the moves in Eric's factastic routine can be done with this set. |
