Greetings everyone,
My name is Bill, and I reside in Ocean Beach, San Diego CA. I was interested in magic as a child, but drifted away from it as I got older. My fondest memory is seeing Harry Blackstone Jr. perform back in the late 7o's. Not too long ago, I stumbled upon some small boxed sets, with a few tricks in them, that are put out by Fantasma in the $1 bin at a local Michaels Crafts. And after a few not-so-subtle hints, my girlfriend ended up getting me one of Fantasma's DVD magic sets for my birthday.
So now I practice whenever I have some free time, and hopefully I will get to the point where I'm proficient enough to maybe do tricks for folks in public.

Greetings Bill!
Welcome. Ocean road in good old San Diego eh?!
I remember a sushi joint on there - an little old wooden shack that used
to truly pack em in! People would stand in line for hours just to get
a table. I can't remember the name but I can remember the almond Tempura chicken!
It was close to a dog / poodle parlour. Can you help me? To much saki I guess!
Have fun.

Ocean Road? Hmm...No Ocean Road around here. We do have an Ocean Blvd & an Ocean St., but not here in Ocean Beach. The sushi place you're referring to doesn't ring any bells, but this is California, you pretty much can't turn around without tripping over sushi joints. Sorry I can't be more help on that.

All it takes is the initial interest and the dedication to the craft. Sounds like you have an interest that will last. As long as you incorporate a little magic in your daily life you will find rewards around every corner. I was in OB last month, can't go anywhere until I have a beer at the Sunshine CO. Chicken Kitchen

P.S. Let me know if there is anything I can assist you with in the future.
