What do you think is the biggest or most surprising thing you could produce from under a bowler (or similar) hat?
How about a bird cage? Any thoughts? warm regards |

I've produced a skull once. had the idea from Malini and the block of ice. spun a coin on the table, covered it with the hat and asked "Heads or Tails" most people say heads, I said your right, lifted the hat and there was the skull.

I saw a guy produce a skull in a magic competition a few years ago. It was pretty cool. It was very much like Hamlet.
Danny Korem's book (Korem Without Limits) has a coconut from hat. Unusual method worth looking into. I produce a 6" cannonball.

I love a coconut. Makes a nice thunk, light weight, hard, not too huge, does not rot like a melon.

Penn and Teller produced a hatful of "live" roaches on the Letterman show.
I wrote up a routine for Shadow Digest called "The Cups and Balls -- Done by Death." There was a hat load of a full-size rubber brain.

Here is a very important secret. I probably should post this in the Secret Sessions, but you wouldn't be able to read it until you have made 44 more posts. So here goes. Look around yourself and your environment for things that are odd, but will fit into a hat. A stack of 100 CD's. A pile of laundry. A big brass bell A live dog. A head. Become aware of your surroundings. Most people float around in a cloud, completely unaware of what is going on around them. Don't be one of those people. John Cornelius has the reputation of being able to walk from the front door of a hardware store to the cashier's counter and be inspired by the items on display to create as many as four or five new tricks. Start looking at your environment as a place to draw information from, not just a place to occupy.

Wow - great advice and me laugh (44 more posts indeed).
I was greatly influenced by Chelman's hauntiques, and collect antiques and old things to use as props (including bones and a skull!). Would the bonus genuis doll re-appearing under the cups hat if both performed in the same routine be worthwhile? many thanks |
