It wasn't much, but Magic Bubbles, comedy c&r rope, a simple bill tube routine and ending on stiff rope (as an applause-o-meter) was the routine for a fundraiser. The good news? My friend raised his goal! The bad news? The bill tube...

I had been rehearsing the bill tube, knowing there was a chance the bill would get caught going in and possibly jam up. I thought I knew I could back it up and try again... Maybe I did. But I also left way too much behind and essentially slammed the thing together and crushed a good 50% of the darn thing in the clerk-of-the-work, HA!

The bill looked pretty mangled, and I had to leap back to the table, grab a pen just to open the thing. I moved quite quickly but the effect, as it was, fizzled. Thank goodness for the table and those hidden pockets, allowing me to ditch things so at least nothing was revealed.

The spectator was a trooper and played along, giving the $20 to the fundraiser, so all was well and it was in good fun.

As my character was a street magician it wasn't so much the magic as the jokes and entertainment, and folks seemed to enjoy it. I was invited to the next one, so it can't have been too bad Smile

It's good to hear everything went well for you.
15 years is a long time to be away from performing.
Congrats on your show.
Bob.
