Animation looks amazing. But the hookup must be complicated? I guess there would be a discount if you wanted a second and third cup?
Have fun, John

The cup shows very typical characteristics. The various effects in the demo video look very good. The prop looks very innocent.
I must say it’s a very versatile & interesting prop. Certainly there is something new & different in the offering. GREAT thinking on the part of Ron Jaxon and Sean Bogunia. This is on my purchase list, but I will wait for a couple of reviews.

Thanks a lot everyone.
Just thought I'd let you know that a couple of short reviews have been posted in this thread. http://themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic......orum=217 ropeadope - First thanks so much for the comment. All the levitation's where done with Steve Fearson's hook up (Steve Fearson's Master Levitation System). It does take practice of course but it's not really that complicated. But I do love how the cup covers all angles of the floating ball making it seem more impossible. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about cupwow. Ron Jaxon |

I really liked the mini Cube A Libre effect with the ABC dice. The rest of it looks okay too. Not my cup of tea...no pun intended.

Well I must say this looks like a great addition to the world of magic with cups. Not since the chop cup has anything really new come out that uses cups to create some very visual magic. The stacking cubes looks great. I wasn't to happy the way some of the colour changing balls and transpositions looked. It seemed that when the cup was lifted on a couple occurances, the balls seemed to drop from behind the cup. I dion't know about you but small details like that would bother me because of potential angle issues.
Otherwise, this looks really good and I'm sure many of you will find great ways to incorporate this interesting item into your routines. That's my take on it! |

I re-watched the video and I can now see how it might seem like the ball was behind the cup a couple of times. But that's really not the case. It always comes from under the cup. Just in those instances it was toward the back wall of the cup. But it was under it. In fact most of that 3 cup routine could be done surrounded. It actually all could except for the very end where you show the inside the cups after the three odd color balls appear. To do it surrounded you just don't do any lapping.
Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up. At no point is any of the balls behind the cup or come from behind the cup. Always from under it. Thanks so much for the kind words otherwise. LOL Ron Jaxon |

I saw this from a couple of feet away... This thing sings! I do not often praise effects... But this is just fun to watch. I was wondering if he (Sean) was ever gonna release it.

Do you have any external anchors on your body or is everything contained in the cup?
Do you have to be hooked up in advance or can you do it out of your brief case in the middle of your act? |

I'm very pleased that there were some effects shown with the performer standing. I have long been rather jaded with "cups and balls", not because I dislike the effect, but because it's SO overdone by every wannabe magi. Now this comes along, and turns the whole routine on it's head! Some of the effects in the demo are simply beautiful, and no doubt, this will become an invaluable addition to an already classic effect.
When I first noticed "CupWow", a "new" cups and balls routine, I had very little interest. BUT....after watching the demo, and realising the potential that CupWow offers, I'm absolutely sold! I can almost HEAR the groans as I produce a cup and ball, and proceed to perform the "standard" moves (need to brush up, I haven't done C&B for a decade!). But to move on to CupWow, and demonstrate the IMPOSSIBLE will be a joy! This looks like possibly one of the most creative new ideas in magic for a long time. A classic, which has literally been performed for centuries, now has countless new effects and possibilities. I'll save the rest of my enthusiasm for the day I first perform with this, but for sure, I plan to add this to my repertoire, and am excited as a kid in a toyshop! Congratulations Jaxon and Sean, I think you have something here which is really worthy of the title "21st Century Magic". Every time I think the magic world has reached a plateau, someone comes along and creates something even more mind-boggling and awesome. Recently we've had some great concepts - (eg "Ultracinese") and I thought nothing else would excite me much for some time, but here is "CupWow", and this is it! Time for me to get out the C&B and do some revision! Potty |

Thanks so much. I'd love to see what you come up with using the cupwow. We spent a lot of time experimenting with it and coming up with ways to use it. But I'm sure others will come up with uses that we never thought of. That to me is exciting.

The only exception would be the part that shows it being used with Steve Fearson's hook up but that's not really what cupwow was made for. Just one of the things it can be done with it. As always let me know if you have any qestions. Ron Jaxon |

This is brilliant, I just got mine! Very well made, and incredible method! Though the functioning of the prop is slightly restrictive (meaning some of your existing Cups and Balls moves may be impractical). It would be nice to see the addition of a matching ungimmicked cup, and a regular chop cup. This would give performers a far greater scope for developing a full routine. You'd start with a single cup routine, then add the extra two cups for a Grand Finale.
OR - present your regular routine using your existing cups, but have Cup Wow sitting aside - the "Mystery Cup" (an idea I got from Scott Alexander's "Water Monte".) THEN, you can perform ALL your standard moves, but finish off with the Mystery Cup, which can take your routine up a couple of notches, and leave eveyone fried! If you perform Cups and Balls - get this! It's simply awesome, one of those effects you can watch yourself and be amazed! I think a full C&B routine using just the Cup Wow might be tricky, due to the mechanics. But even so, this is something you really have to play with to appreciate the potential. As I hoped, this truly does give C&B a whole new dynamic, and no one could imagine that this innocent cup could do the things it does! You will NOT be disappointed with Cup Wow! It's gold! Potty |

I re-read my post above, and perhaps I was so excited, I deliberated too much on the negatives (that's my way - I always want to sort out glitches) - believe me, this takes C&B to a whole new level. You know what a chop cup does - imagine having a chop cup which works just as a normal chop cup, but which can also work in REVERSE. That is, not only can you make a ball appear a la chop cup, but with no effort, you can also make a ball DISAPPEAR, in just the same (apparent) manner that a chop cup does. There's no need to put the ball into the cup, you just cover the ball, and it's gone!
And, there's much, much more, because the method allows all kinds of moves which have yet to be thought-up. You could see this as a great utility device with which to come up with great new ideas and presentations. For instance, replace the ball with a crumpled dollar bill. For sure, once a few good performers start to play around with it, there will be some fantastic ideas thrown around. And, if you hate IT (I'm not a big fan myself), don't fret, though this does use IT, it's one of those effects where the IT is well-controlled, is VERY unlikely to break, and you will be able to concentrate on your presentation, without any issues concerning the IT. I'll post a more thorough review once I've had the chance to play around with it, but really, this is C&B taken into the 21st century with a bang! Very, very exciting! Potty |

Thanks so much Potty. I'm so glad you like it. Sean expresses his thanks as well.
I'm also looking forward to seeing that other magicians do with it. We spent a lot of time working things out and coming up with uses. But it'll be great to see what others come up with. A little something I'm playing around with right now. Well, I won't give details here on open forum but I'll give you a hint that might tell you what it is if you already own one. Rob, Good grief, that's an amazing demo!...can this be used for a chop cup routine only? or is it really more for a cups and balls routine? Would the mechanism "interfere" with chop cup functionality? Meaning would I need a chop and second cupwow gimmicked cup? PM me if I'm asking stuff that is too exposure-ish
