Hi All,
Vlad speaks the truth. Do NOT sit on the fence. I have purchased a lot of magic from Whit - shells, Monte stuff, "School for Scoundrels" notes, etc... Whit's materials, performances and writings on USEFUL theory, character and presentational nuances are, collectively, a precious, valuable and (thankfully) growing contribution to our magic. My payment is in… …do likewise, friends!
"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time." "The dog did nothing in the night-time." "That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes. |

Whit, can the Intricate web of distraction used with regular paddles or has to be done with knives (I don't like to use knives).
Also where can I find what is included in the Street magic booklet or any video showing the routine/s like you have for Mongolian and Chicago surprise? Thank you ... Pablo |

There are no videos on the ESP Survey. It is a sort of one on one legal scam for street performers to make money when the cops are on top of you or it is too cold to do sleight of hand or hold a show. Aaron Fisher and Adam Grace each tried it on the streets of Hollywood and made $40 and hour.
There are no videos of the Impromptu Card Code (Routine for the Blind). But it is a complete routine for involving, fooling, and making a star out of a blind person in a close-up group. Street Magic is not about the tricks, however. It is the story of my work on the streets of New York and in Europe and what I learned from the experience and from the characters I met. There is a lot of real-world advice that applies to all magic not just street performing. I don't think the routine would make as much sense with paddles, though I'm sure it can be adapted. I'm interested, why would you not like to use pocket knives? It seems like such the perfect normal pocket object to carry around, and much less magic-shoppy than a paddle. Perhaps someone who has read them can comment more on Street Magic and Intricate Web. |

Thank you Whit, I don't carry pocket knives, I never did, just that, so I thought that maybe a hot rod type of paddle could be a replacement for the knives.
Anyway I am sending you the paypal for $25, I enjoy your magic, so most likely I will enjoy the booklets as well. Pablo |

Yes, I know it is less common nowadays. Before 1950, every man carried a pocket knife.
All packages were wrapped in paper and tied with string, and every one needed a knife to cut the ubiquitous strings. They were handy for many other little tasks as well. I use mine almost every day for something or other handy--if only to open a letter. Many carried pocket knives on their watch chains. I grew up in Tennessee and North Carolina, and have carried a pocket knife since I was nine. |

Hey Pop, I'm kind of disappointed. Disappointed that Street wasn't a whole lot longer. Would love to read more about your street adventures. And your Impromptu Card Code has given my New World deck (Dill and Weber) a new purpose. Made me break out the Scoundrel catalog to see what else I was missing. Thanks man.

I believe a full length book has just been seconded. I've even got a name for you: Whit and Wisdom from the Street. Heh, heh?
I also really loved Pop's Arguement Against Originality. It's a refreshing point of view that runs counter to almost everything else I've read. For those of us who never plan on having our own LV show, it's comforting to know someone of Pop's caliber sees the value in pure entertainment regardless of the source. |

Just wanted to bump this thread up because the sale is almost over.
My collection has grown considrably over the last 4yrs and I can say without a doubt that these ebooks from Whit are some of my most valuable acquisitions. More than teaching you how to be a magician, he's teaching you how to become a performer and we all know how different the two are. I consider him the Jerome Finley or Rick Maue of traditional magic. Why? Because he, more than any other writer on the subject I've come across so far, is able to elegantly articulate the thought processes of both performer and spectator. There's gold in them there (Chapel)hills. |

Hey folks -- jump on this offer. I don't do cards and don't do mental magic and don't own knives -- and still got immeasurable value from the theory and experience shared in these Books.
Yes, I do have rings and already had his Ring Routine -- but not the insight shared. Just get 'em -- if you're late give him a sob story
