This is part of the Health Care Reform Bill. It sure sems racist as Black People do not use them. Only the white people are being taxed.
Let me tell you if this was reversed it would hit the fan. I personally think "tanning beds" are ridiculous but that is beside the point.

Tanning beds increase the risk of skin cancer. If you get skin cancer, you'll be using more insurance. I don't see the problem- it's the same as taxing cigarettes and using the proceeds to help fund cancer research/treatments and anti-smoking programs.

Sorry. I have so many Facebook friends who'd make a post like that completely seriously, it's getting tough to tell the difference anymore.

When black people use those tanning beds they will be taxed accordingly. Acesover You made a joke, everybody got a good laugh, and poor HerbLary got all bent out of shape because of your joke. Now don't you feel guilty?

Tanning beds are deathtraps anyways. That this is not more widely known is evidence of yet another MSM cover-up.

I used to use them all time, the ones you lie down on, I don't like the stand-up ones. I was talking to a doctor one night, after getting a little burnt on one and he pointed out the similarity in shape to a coffin; the quickest way to skin cancer. I went on one two days later and couldn't get what he said out of my head, when I pulled the top down, it was what I imagined being stuck in a coffin would feel like. Haven't been on one since, however people do you them to clear-up skin conditions, they have there uses

This is just the tip of the iceburg of taxes that those making under $250,000 are going to see.

This stuff is really funny. You know, I have my own health insurance and oddly enough they don't seem to charge me more if I use a tanning bed. At least I didn't see that question on any of the forms I filled out to get the insurance. A government tax claiming that health insurance is more costly due to tanning beds is problematic because A) it assumes that everyone who uses a tanning bed is on some kind of government health insurance. And B) That the government would somehow pay the taxes collected to non government insurance company's who had to pay claims toward a patient that got sick from using a tanning bed. So where exactly is this tax money going? I can guarantee its not going to any insurance company that has to pay a claim.
I don't use tanning beds but this kind of stuff is getting to be B.S. from this government. I pay enough in taxes. Period.

You are going to hate this then. They are proposing a tax for individuals in states that the majority of residence enjoy a yearly average temperature of over 55 degrees F will have to pay a tax equal to the heating gas and oil taxes paid in other states. This is because everyone needs to be treated fairly and since the taxes on those fuels are used for the benefit of all then it isn't right for those in Florida and Hawaii etc to not pay their share.

No its directed towards controlling anything and everything that you do. Money is just the tool as words are to thought.
