In a 1973 Linking Rings was an article about a number of States having a Magic Recognition" Week or Month. What ever happened tot his idea?

I am not sure what that means Ken, sorry.
Was it current things, such as, In Recognition of the best magic performance of week in the state of Texas, or something like that. Or more of an historical thing or what?
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Sorry -- in the U.S.A. it has been common to dedicate a Month, Day or Week to a favorite cause, "National Secretary Appreciation Week." "New Jersey Flower Apprecation Week," etc. Perhaps it is roll-over from having days assigned to Saints. Apparently, in 1973 there was a movement to have States and Cities proclaim a "Magic Appreciation Day" and some did to honor the art of performance magic.

SAM promotes National Magic Week every year from October 25-31. SAM and IBM Rings around the world present displays, showcases and demonstrations in support of magical entertainment. Our Ring is making an effort to have the week officially proclaimed by the Governor here in North Carolina.
