I've heard that THOR demolished on of it's buildings early Thursday morning. According to the building department, no demolition permit was obtained: however the building inspector said " that is only a crime if you do it WHILE a building department employ is present. No S***, that's what they said. Looks like nothing can stop them from leveling Henderson Music Hall, to build their mini-mall.
Believe it or not.

And I thought that the whole Save Tillie blunder was a bad bureaucratic screw-up...

When I heard Thor was doing illegal demo of some building, I thought about all the great structures they own. We I found out that it was these little shanties on 12th & Surf, I had mixed feeling about it. Perhaps the reason the city looked the other way is that they "buildings" were definately not up to any codes.

I feel the Grashorn, Bank, Shore Hotel and Henderson's Music Hall are probably safe, because it would cost Thor real money to rip them down. Joe Sitt has spent enough money in Coney Island and he will not sit back and wait for someone to buy him out. I'm guessing that they got the permits to tear them down just to show to anyone that might want to buy the property from Thor that this could be done. It was a move to make the land more flippable. And THAT fits Joe Sitt's MO.

Or maybe Joe Sitt cleared that lot in anticipation of the return of the "Savior" next season?
