Interesting experiment on our perception (or lack thereof)...

If someone pulled that gag on me I'd probably have a nervous breakdown or something...
Also, there is a new variant of the Gorilla Test that is going around the net...

Pretty much same experiment as the old one, where someone asking directions is masked by a door or board carried by people and replaced begged some good questions. That was about a decade ago.
What's not being reported (done yet???) can be setup by pointing a camera at the eyes of the subject during the experiment to see if there are any responses to a change in the target object/person and from that to do a just-noticeable-difference range of tests until we get a measure of this process. For example, in the experiment in that video, point the camera up so you can watch the eyes of the subject, then have one guy swap for an older guy, a woman, a guy in a chicken costume, a nude person... and see what is and is not noticed. Basic experimental design - a course you take in second or third year undergraduate psychology.

You're missing it Pakar, some folks in psychology are doing publicity stunts rather than doing research. I half expect someone to repeat one of Milgram's studies where rather than administer 'electric shocks' they 'terminate employees' as a managerial study. On the more serious side, still looking for further research on the "role faking" MMPI study done in the early 1970s where students were able to shift their MMPI profiles closer to folks in some professions by "thinking like them" - as to whether that same can be replicated in a clinical setting.
What next? Using the Asrah trick as part of a thematic apperception test?

Oo, ok... They should do that too...
Was really just agreeing with you... As to how, I'd just leave that to you.

This may be why it was replaced by the MMPI-2 and the MMPI-2 RF. The Millon is another one that has big holes in it. I took both of them at a time when I was in regular correspondence with people in England, Scotland and Germany. I found it amusing that one of the questions was "I got a letter from Berlin last week." I suppose this was to test whether I thought people in Berlin actually cared about what I was doing.
