I LOVE George Carl's act... funny funny funny! Watching his routine is a lesson in comedy, so many ideas. As Spartacus was implying, don't duplicate his routines move for move, it wouldn't work because you're not George Carl. However, most of the gags he does were old when he did them, and I'm positive he got them from watching other entertainers before him. He took those old gags, combined them with his wild frantic on-stage character into a comedy show that just gets funnier every time I see it. For instance, the idea of being unable to pick up the table because it's too heavy, taking off one single lightweight item then being able to lift it with ease, is as old as the hills. There is no problem with doing that bit, just make it your own. It doesn't have to be a broken harmonica to make it funny. It's common for a magician to have a table with all manner of props piled on top. Too heavy to lift, take off a single playing card, then it's easy to lift. Same gag reformatted for a different act. Again, do a YouTube video search for "George Carl" and enjoy the hilarity! -------------------------------------------------- |

Since I use a harmonica(s) in most every show, I loved G.C.
One thing I use(after it kept happening naturally) is my harmonica rack(think Dylan's harmonica holder while he also played the guitar)not being able to stay in one place. First it drops down, then bangs my lip, gets turned around to my back...etc... First we copy,imitate/ then we emulate..then we create.. Then others copy us... Harris

Unclesamayen, I'm just wondering if you've ever purchased any of the many items you've asked about over the years?
If so what have you got on well with?

If you like the look of this prop, and can find a place for it, you won't be disappointed. The part where the stand bends left or right can be done easily no matter the proximity of the audience. The part where the stand turns into a wet noodle is going to require some distance in order to be deceptive. But if you're just going for laughs, you can do this anywhere.
There's a new product out, which in my opinion is a brilliant prop and an excellent pairing with this stand. Check out the Comedy Microphone at http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S15333
