Are the handcuffs you use able to fit a large wrist? I measured my wrist and it is about 9 1/4 inches around, yes I'm tall. Where would you suggest I find handcuffs to fit. I'm just getting interested in escapes and really don't know where to begin.
Thanks |

Hi Jeff
Cannons great escapes does a larger size cuff. Many of the online suppliers who sell to the police, etc... do too. After all there are a lot of big criminals try searching Google. Check the below page at Cannons for extra large SMITH & WESSON MODEL 110's amongst others. There are also some larger SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1's on that page too. Click Here! Hope this helps David

Steve, for my first set of handcuffs should I buy gimmicked or ungimmicked? The company you suggested only sells ungimmicked, good prices though. Also do you have any beginner book recommendations?
Thanks, |

Hi Jeff,
I am proud to be a member of http://www.strictlyunderground.com In this capacity and as a master locksmith and seasoned escapologist, I can gimmick practically any lock or handcuff you may please. So, that being said, should you buy an ungimmicked restraint from Discount Handcuff Warehouse, I can certainly trick it for you in a number of ways. Now, on to whether or not you should use gimmicked or not, it is best you get your hands on both types and learn which type best suits your personal performance styles and individual needs. This is a "trial by doing" and a gradual evolution as a performer, which will most help you determine what is best for you as an individual. On the "Underground", there are a variety of books which are a good start. I have written a few but one you may wish to purchase is the manuscript on escapes written by Shawn "Xtreem" Ness. This volume is a very good introduction to escapes and contains some fine full fledged routines that once you learn them, you are ready to perform them! Of course, I will always be more than willing to offer my advice and assistance in any way I can. Please do not hesitiate to PM me. Feel free to check out my web page at http://www.stevesantini.com Nice to hear from you Jeff and welcome to the wonderful world of escapology! Best regards from Canada, Steve Santini. |

Hi all
Discount handcuffs was the one I was trying to remember when I said 'search the web'. I have picked up a bunch of stuff there. Great service, fast shipping around the world, and low prices. I too can recommend Shawn 'X-Treem' Ness's manuscript. I was one of the first people to get my hands on a copy and found it to be an excellent read. Containing LOTS of information, hints and fully working routines. Hope this helps David

Hi Jeff,
I am also getting my first escape items. I ordered from Discount Handcuffs as well and chose to go with all real items. Let me relate a little story. Never practice alone! Ever! I had gone home from work for lunch two weeks ago and had a little time left before going back, when I decided to practice using the Cuff key behind my back. Well this set was brand new and after I had them on I went to put the key in and it was covered in oil from the new Cuffs and shot out of my fingers like a pumpkin seed and into the crack of the cushion on my recliner. I heard it tinkle against the springs on the way down inside. My only saving grace was that I had thumb-tacked a string behind the door in the spare bedroom that came down low enough to the cuffs with a spare key on it, otherwise I wouldn't have made it back to work. If you decide to use real stuff, have a backup plan, because **** happens. Mike

Why put your life at risk? Learn first, then practice, then use gimmicked stuff.

I might add that a size large Humane Restraint straitjacket would probably fit a cross between a gorilla and a rhino. I used a size small when I weighed 165 lbs.

Dr Stephen,
I weigh almost as much as a small gorilla. I'm 6'8 and OVER 350. I don't know if an extra large would fit. My shirts are 3xt. BEFORE anyone asks, I wear size 16 shoes. Would an extra large fit or should I wait until I lose some weight? Thanks, Big Jeff |

Big Jeff,
I'd contact Humane Restraint direct before ordering. schultz1@chorus.net is the email address for Stacy who I go through when ordering from HR. Roslyn
