Does anyone know why the Todd Lassen site is down? All I get is a message saying it's expired.

I think he should renew his webhost or something like that.

Don't e-mail Lassen, he'll never get back with you. Best to call him like Mike says.

That's storage that he doesn't answer email, but I know what you mean. I emailed him earlier maybe a year ago about purchasing some of his products, but he never returned my email. Also it's impossible to buy via his site unless I missed something. Maybe he should just remove his email address from his site? There doesn't seem to be too many source to buy quality gaffs online - although maybe I've just never found them.

O, I think I found the answer. Under "Purchasing Information", it reads:
"Please do not place an order without speaking with me by phone, or e-mail first and confirming your order. Part of my success is due to having great customer relationships. Even though I am busier than ever, I always make the time to answer my customer's questions and fulfill their needs. I feel that this rapport is essential." I hope that clears it up. Gotta CALL him first. As RobbyRob said, email probably ain't the best way to contact him. He travels a lot! Doug |

Hey rob, welcome to the Café.
Truth be told there really are many ways to skin a cat ...Jamie Schoolcraft's work is just as high quality and maybe even better depending on who you ask big and small, and you can most certainly contact him. Pretty cool dude too. And with that, Open Sesame! http://www.coingaffs.com/Welcome.html Online Store: http://coingaffs.bigcartel.com/ *Also, TC Ryder here on the Café carries the Schoolcraft line and is quite knowledgable about these things, very personable too. PM him about any of it. Here's his website: http://realcoinmagic.com/ Tell them both Mb from the Café sent'cha. There's also another fine craftsman that's really good, Roy Kueppers. http://www.roykueppers.com/index.html And there's Mr. Tango here on the Café, does fine work. http://tangomagic.com/home.php?cat=1 Also Johnson's Coins are pretty good everyday alternatives if you're not up to putting out the cash for the special stuff from the craftsman. http://johnsonmagicproducts.com/shop/index.php

Hey MB -
Thanks for the info. I've been lurking around here for a while, but haven't piped up much - just listening to people correct each other Until now I've only used Johnson Products stuff, which seemed to be pretty good. Like I mentioned I tried to order from Lassen some time ago, but no dice. Last week I ordered a walking liberty shell set from Roy Kueppers. I'm psyched to use it as it should be here any day. Then just last week I found TC site from another thread here at the Café. Looks like a great site and he seems to know his stuff. I think I may hit him up next. By the way, I picked up your Grandpa's Coins 2 last week - it's great effect! I'm still working through it, but I think I will get a lot of mileage out of this one! Cheers, Rob |

I've ordered many items from Lassen and have never had a problem reaching him. The secret, for want of a better word, is to call him.
Having ordered from both Lassen and Schoolcraft, I prefer to wait for Lassen's items to arrive ( and, admittedly, sometimes it takes quite a while ). Although Schoolcraft does produce a quality set now and then, for consistency I opt for Lassen. Also, if you order an item listed on his blog, you'll receive it very quickly because it's already manufactured. |
