If I'm going to Vegas focused on seeing some great magic for the first time, really like clever stage comedy and offbeat stuff, who should I go see? Who has the best routines and most creative characters on stage? I know Mac King, Penn and Teller, Lance Burton, and the Amazing Jonathan are playing. Are there any lesser known magi whose shows are "can't miss"? Also, I'm not as interested in stage illusions, but want an act that will make me laugh and think about magic differently. Without putting anyone on the spot too much, could you tell me your top "headliner" and also perhaps your best "off the Strip" or "sleeper" performer I'd be likely to miss? Many thanks.

Copperfield is in town through August at the MGM. If you've not seen him in while that might be a worthwhile visit. Enjoy your visit to Vegas! |

Thanks LVMagicAl,
I wish I had read your list before buying tix to Believe; believe me. That one is a mediocre show at best. My wife likes Circu de Soleil and I thought I could "kill two birds." Boy was I wrong. Mac King was outstanding, however. Thanks for the tips. Todd |

I'll be in Vegas next Monday. I know Lance just shut down, and I'd love to go see Penn & Teller. Any other suggestions other than what's already been mentioned that may be happening next week?
Thanks! |

For a terrific "smaller" show, I recommend "Open Sesame" starring Losander, Luna Shimada and Christian Diamond.
I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and Dan Sperry was substituting for an absent Diamond. http://www.opensesametheshow.com/ |
