Some places will not permit lighted candles because of the hazard of fire.

This is a source for flameless (electronic) candles that have an extremely randomized, flickering "flame." They look very realistic when enclosed in a translucent container. Obviously when sitting exposed on the table, the "flame" looks like a yellow LED.

A basic unit consists of a candle (the size of a tea light) and a charger. The cost is around $36 (depending upon options).

Similar versions of this ( but they utilise a battery rather than mains charger ) can be bought at pound shops in the UK .

You might also consider the kind that can be controlled by remote.

I have some that you can actually blow out. It seems to have a small microphone next to the "flame" and the wind noise turns it off and on.

I just wonder, if there is anyway for a "spirit" to blow them out???

That would be very cool!

I've been using good quality LED candles for quite a while,
but I really love this blow-out feature, thanks.

Walt,

Check out these guys. It's DIY, but you can program flicker sequences, etc.
