Let's see, who would you be more nervous performing for?...
Donald Trump David Copperfield or... The Judges on Americas Got Talent |

Lets, see:
Donald Trump would fire me just for the ratings. David Copperfield might transport me to his Bahama Island (Cool) Piers Buzzes every Magician, Howie would want to see more, and Sharon saw it before. Jeff McBride would be kind but find a motivation for doing every trick and may be offended by my Temple Screen. Lance Burton would Shake his head at my Chair Suspension. (He does wonderful Levitations) The Amazing Johnathan would want to rip the head off my rabbit just to see the kids scream. Chris Angle would want to revise my show to so it would be a bizarre show for the devil in the kids. Well, naw, I would jut probably ignore them and do what I like best.

I'd just do my show. If my show sucked, I wouldn't be doing it. I'd just go in knowing that I was there for the kids and not dad. If the kids are happy, mom and dad usually follow.
Let's face it .... the "big name" magician probably knows better than anyone what it's like to deal with all sorts of situations. Why be nervous? For all you know, that "big name magician" is as impressed with your handling of 6 year olds as you are of his handling of tigers! Sounds like it was a fun gig! |

Great Post. Yes, I also think you did the right thing. You were hired to entertain for a 6 year-old. I also applaud you not posting the pic. Chances are you were referred by someone else. I thought it was interesting that the first time I attended an open round table, I had some moves that some had never seen before and those that may have were gracious enough not to say, "Seen it" or something else along those lines. I hope everyone has the kind of support I get from fellow magicians. You guys are great!!!

Bigger than Rick T and unfortunately, can't really ask for a testimonial but he and one of his consultants gave me a lot of positive feedback so I feel I came away with some valuable stuff. |

Can we have a link to your Website? Since you did such a show for a Celebrity I would like to learn from your website.

GREAT JOB!!!! I would love to do a show for a famous magicians 6 year old son, especially if Taco, my Axtell, hands free ventriloquist toucan puppet were there. I guess I would have been a little nervous, but all I would have remembered is that these people are just regular people.
I once did a show for a 3 year old girl and her Dad was a New Orleans Saints/Tulane football player. The room was filled with football players. I had a great time even teaching Skyler Green a card trick at the end of the show. |

I wouldn't have been nervous at all nor scared to say the name.
The mystery famous magician is a nice guy, good sense of humor, and a pretty weird dude like most magicians. Remember, we all put our pants on the same way, the only difference is how or who pulls 'em off the night before. |

You should have been flattered that the famous magician hired you in the first place. You must have a good reputation and he must have thought highly of you.

I also won't name a guy but a well known magician in LA, not of the celebrity caliber, would hire magicians to do his kids birthdays. This magician wasn't a nice guy, wasn't helpful or supportive, and working for him usually turned into a nightmare after it was over. So be happy! DC,CK, et al are all nice guys.
