Hey John,
Congratulations on the publication of One Degree. In one of the posts I've read here you mention that you (I'm paraphrasing here...) prioritize "grace and fluidity." What I've seen you perform both in person and on video definately exhibits that prioritization. I'd add that you also have a wonderful economy or efficiency of method. I don't see you "dig" for breaks or encumber your performances with extraneous cutting/dealing/shuffling etc. Your magic is very clean and uncluttered; very straightforward and clear. In addition to the various accolades you've received here (all of which I agree with), I thought I'd add my two cents. I haven't been able to pick up the new book yet, but I certainly will! Best, Paul |

Hi Paul,
So glad to have you here. Well, you just made my day! Coming from someone of your caliber, your compliment means so much. Thanks for articulating it so wonderfully. I absolutely strive for methods that allow clean, uncluttered handling. Funny, I know my strengths...and weaknesses. And sometimes, the most direct method is too hard for me to pull off naturally and with grace (like a diagonal palm shift, etc.). Knowing this, I use methods that are purely aligned with my strengths (as well as the presentationsl context). So my goal is always to use the SMARTEST method...for ME. Thanks so much, Paul. John G

Only a hobbyist, but would like to strongly agree with what Mr. Cummins has said (I also have much of his classic teaching material and have found it invaluable). I have had John's DVDs for years but don't think I appreciated them enough the first time around. The new book is making me relook at all his work. His Jazz Aces variation is wonderful, Mr. E takes a stroll is the cleanest presentation of this plot I've seen. I forgot that much of his stuff actually fooled me the first time around. After you have watched a few hundred magic DVDs this is not so easy. Also a great value, hard to find sources with this much usable material. Highly recommend his work.
