You can make a vortex with a great big funnel, and a rubber glove stretched over the wide end, with this vortex you can blow out a candle from across the room just by snaping the glove.

Something I learned from a magic book in high school...
You can blow out a wooden kitchen match by snapping the (unlit) end so it jerks sharply. I *believe* the reason is that it moves the wood outside of the envelop of heated air of the flame but that's justa guess. Anyway if you misdirect by blowing down the other sleeve as you do it, its a surprisingly strong effect. 'Ive doen it many times and no one has ever caught me doing the match-snap.
It is always darkest just before you are eaten by a grue.
