I use it very occasionally. There are some good tricks in the royal road that are ok that use it.

I don't, mostly because my hands are dry and it is almost impossible to do well...

Look up Guess Quotient, the first routine in Best of Friends, Vol. 3. I'll bet that you'll want to use the glide then. HL.

Yeah people don't see it coming!

Paul Harris's Bizarre Twist uses a glide. So ya, I guess I use it all the time as well.

To me, it's not a natural-looking move. But in the right routine, at the right moment (and in the right hands...probably not mine), this can be a mind-melter.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

A great example of the best way to use the glide can be found on Osterlinds Easy To Master Mental Miracles Vol. #1 with the effect entitled "Marked Thought".

Yup. I've got some applications for it, mostly when I'm in my B-material.
Here's a tip. Don't use the handling talked about in Royal Road, use the one talked about in Expert Card Technique.

I use it constantly. Coupled with a D/L it's the absolute simplest way to exchange two cards on the table with two cards in your hand.
Also, just went to the Banachek lecture in Chattanooga, and he demoed one VERY nice effect that utilized the Glide.
...what if I could read your mind?

I use the glide in one of my favorite tricks. The one that everyone asks me to show their friends. I learned it when I was about 13 or 14. Then I read Royal Road earlier this year and found an almost identical trick but with a different ending (Design for Laughter). In the version I do I end with 5 cards on the table that the spectator knows without a doubt that none of them are his. I then put the 5 cards in his hands and slap them out. He is left holding 1 card and when he turns it over it is his card. I still love that trick more than any other ones that I perform. Maybe because I am very confident that I won't get caught doing it. I'm sure someone has already invented this trick because I was taught it by another student when I was in school but I do not know where it originated from.

I use it occasionally at bars. Makes a nice addition and variation to a traditional set of forces.

I use the glide when I'm not in the mood to do heavy sleight of hand card magic. When I get a borrowed deck or something else.
