In a research for a trip to Mexico I found that in the ancient Mayan city Uxmal there is a building called The Pyramid of the Magician. It was built to the honour of Itzamna, god of magicians among other things. Furthermore I found this contemporary painting of Itzamna:

To my eyes it looks as if he is doing a magic gesture in an early Benson Bowl routine!!
