Now that I fully understand where/what type of audience you are performing for, I think the following effects are very visual and can be done with minimal verbal patter as you requested: (If you can incorporate a simple card effect into your routine) WOW 2.0 by Masuda 3rd Degree Burn by Jason Palter - Have a thought of card appear as a blister on your thumb and index finger Pressure by Dan White and Daniel Garcia - VISIBLY insert a spectator's cell phone inside an inflated balloon, and then immediately hand it out for the spec to retrieve his/her phone inside the balloon. Hope these can suit you someway. |

Wow always looked gimmicky to me. Even David Letterman commented when one was used recently on his show. If I recall, he referred to the special sleeve.
If the sleeve was clear that would be one thing, but it is not a natural looking item. |

How about some caps in bottle effects. Three really good ones come to mind. Captured, Prohibition + Provisions, and the new release Trapped.
Very visual, very strong effect on it's own. They don't need any patter while performing it to get strong reactions. Captured requires some prep work that you can't do in front of the specs and is not easily repeatable. Prohibition + Provisions requires a P*r*** and is extremely cool visually. Trapped doesn't require a P*r***, but it still requires the use of m****ts. Prohibition and Trapped can be performed impromptu and with a borrowed bottle.

If you want a visual change just by waving your hand over something, then how about the Raven? That is still difficult to beat, IMO.
Or if it's cards you like, then several Mark Mason items give you visual changes. |

I second what Gospel Dan said. However, you do not need a P* ***g to perform it. The DVD shows you another way, which I have done from the beginning. Yeah, Prohibition is truly eye-candy. With a small setup beforehand, it seems completely impromptu.
Prohibition and Trapped let you give the spectator the bottle with the cap inside to keep as a souvenir! There is also SINFUL by Wayne Houchin (Impromptu Signed Coin In Can), as mentioned above. That one takes a bit of practice, and you have to have a bit of nerve. Abyss is an ungaffed quarter in bottle. This one takes a bit of prep in advance. That bottle can also be left with the spectator. You cannot get the coin out, without cutting the bottle open. It is ingenious! See this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phc86nzy2o0 Does that help any? Doug |
