Can some of you provide reviews and feedback for Casino Royale? I've been thinking about buying it from George Robinson at Viking, but it is a costly purchase. So I'd love some additional feedback on the usefulness of this trick. Can it be quickly repeated? How much set up is required? Audience reaction?

If you would know the secret then you would know that collecting the props yourself would cost more than buying the trick together with the props. I will not reveal the methods used in this trick here but Larry Becker has already published a book where he describes the methods and the necessary props. This book is worth the money too.

I agree. Becker's book completely discusses the effect and you can see if its the right effect for your style. It also contains the instructions and insights to many of his great effects.

MagicLaw,
I never purchased the effect, but when it came on the market I was very interested in it. What did I do ? I called the seller and asked him for advise, since I don't like a few technics used in mentalism, specially the use of a NW. I'm not comfortable with it. in return hHe asked me this simple question : Is your show about mentalism or a general magic show ? I told him that it is more of a parlour / stage comedy magic show. After that, he gave me the advice not to buy this effect, since it isn't suited for this kind of show. So he suggested me to use effects that would appeal more to comedy situation like Martin Lewis Technicolor Prediction. Some mentalism effects are simply too strong in a general magic show. Very often mentalists don't like to mix up magic with all kind of psycho and mentalism effects in the same show, since the result given to the audience isn't the same. That's my feedback. So what kind of show do you have where you would like to put this effect into ? Hope this helped a little bit. Oliver. |

MagicLaw:
It is quick and easy to reset; but out of respect for its powerful effect in a variety of venues, it is better as a feature effect for a group of people to talk about; Not something you keep repeating in the same venue the same day... |
