I wasn't sure exactly where I should post this. What has happened to magicsmith.com?? Are they closing down or something? I didn't really understand the explaination given on the website.
Anyone got any info?

MagicSmith is no longer selling magic retail. They are only producing the tricks, books, and videos that they manufacture (Mark Jenest's stuff, some Gregory Wilson stuff, you know the rest). They will still be selling to stores, websites, etc. You can probably find most of their stuff at YFD.

I know one of the things I will miss is their Magic Demos page. It was really comprehensive. Does anyone know of another site with as many readily accessible and current demos to be viewed?

I agree. they went from hundreds of demos to like 20, and I always liked watching them. This stinks...

I am sorry to see magicsmith go. I haven't been in magic too long (about 2 years) but I shopped there exclusively when I wanted to buy magic effects. When I say exclusively I mean that they were the only magicshop that I shopped at. After my first order there was no other reason to shop elsewhere since their customer service was great nand I was always happy. Now I am going to have to find another magicsite to buy magic from. I know of a couple other big sites but I am curious to see what everyone will recommend. So what are a couple that everyone recommends?

Most of my magic purchase overseas go to magicsmith. It is sad to know that they are closing down their retail business.
Same as Café member DMR, my magic experience is about 2 years and I believe that keen competition, pirate copies, and mirror / share files are some cause to make magic industry to face competition. Besides, most magic shop now provide free shipping to USA customers (when will they provide cheaper air mail to overseas customers?) increase the competition. I hope that I can found a new magic shop that can provide same quality service like Magicsmith.
Most memorable moment - with Maestro Juan Tamariz & Consuelo Lorgia in FISM Busan 2018.

Magic Smith was very honest and shipping was cheap... Sad to see them go.

Although I have never done business with penguin magic, the fact that Chris is recommending that people now shop there is enough for me. I believe that he only would send us to a place where he thought the customer service was as good as it was at MagicSmith. I think Penguin offers free shipping as well. I think I will start shopping there.

I've done business with pengiun and so far have been very happy with their service. Also they have an extensive list of demo videos.
I don't have a solution, but I admire the problem.
