Hi Ballooners!
As a beginner I have one question: What are you doing with all the animals you have twisted for practice? Will you pop them or will you keep them aside until all air is deflated before you throw them in the garbage can? At the moment I have a Pet Cemetery behind our couch but my wife don't like this. |

If you put them aside till all air is deflated naturally it will be between 6/9 months.
I have a micky mouse that we have let the air naturally escape from and then I had to press the last part with books etc. Eventually I will frame it and hang it on the wall. |

I use one of two techniques, I either just snap the larger pieces in half by hand and throw them away. Or, I collect a bunch of inflated sculptures, put them in a large garbage bag, and then use a sharp object to pop all the pieces quickly while they are in the garbage bag.
However, I do normally experiment in my basement and I often have lots of dead creations laying around. |

Unless they really cute - I just pop them or give them to a 5 year old for a durability test!

I have been putting the nice ones on display for everyone in the house to enjoy, until they look ugly, that is. Then I pop them and put them in the garbage. I have been watching that show "hoarders" so I don't let myself have a balloon cemetery, I creates to much clutter.
Weird is part of the job.

It is always darkest just before you are eaten by a grue.

Actually I am thinking of making this real easy. get a cheap tall garbage pail and at the bottom put a board of nails if you will. then have a top with a handle that will fit all the way down and after it is full of balloons put the top on they all go pop when it gets full you shop vac it clean. any other suggestions on this I am all ears

In warmer wether I go out side to practice. and just hand them out, yes I will take tips, but if asked I just tell people I practice out side to save my cat a nervous brake down from all the popping balloons. My cat don't care, but people like the story.

Cyberqat, If you spray them with Super hold hair spray, they will last much longer.

If you really want to make your balloon figures last a long time use hi-float I would only suggest doing this for the specail balloon for the birthday child as it is kind of expensive
hi float doesn't give instructions for filling a 260. I got ahold of a little bit to test and used a flavor injector to fill some hi-float into a 260. I made a basic dog with hi float and one without hi- float. this I did the day after thanksgiving the one with the hi-float only has minimal air loss even now almost 2 months later |
