When I was performing this trick once I said "I am about to perform a very dangous stunt you should never try unless you have the proper training,I had this famous actress train and assist me in learning it.Her name is Linda Lovelase." This got a big laugh then I expected and I just looked up in surpise and said,"Oh you know her" and did the routine.

I've been doing this for about five years now. Do it to music as an opener for both adults and kids. Have never had a problem doing it for the little ones, but maybe a disclaimer IS in order....

As for ditching the evidence, I used to steal a packet of cards from a clip under my jacket and do a "cards from mouth", stealing the balloon out of my mouth behind the cards. These days, I've simplified it - after I've "swallowed" and shown my mouth empty (balloon under tongue), I take a quick drink of coke from an airborne glass, spitting the evidence into the glass. I then pour a bit more coke into the glass and do the airborne effect, pretending not to notice the floating glass as I deliver a one-liner.

Obviously, you don't have to do the airborne follow-up. If you use a darker colored balloon and leave a little cola in the glass, you can use a transparent glass to ditch the eveidence.

Just a quick note, I have used a bubble gum coil to pull it out. Just as I push the last bit of the balloon in I shove the coil in my mouth and pull it out coughing up the balloon at the end.

Thanks for the tips guys, I had the same problem with ditching the evidence, I think I'm going to use the cola-drinking bit...
