This is the write up:
A beautifully made, 7" self-contained acrylic glass that fills with smoke automatically. This is battery operated. This comes with the original instructions and routine. You can cover the glass with a hanky and when taken away, the glass is filled with smoke. You'll love this beautifully made piece of apparatus. --------------- The key word here is Battery Operated, I have seen this, the glass looks like a fake to start with, but if you must know how to me it: http://www.kkorchid.com/fogger.htm Pretty easy to make it battery operated. There are chemical methods to make smoke, coat the glass with Chemical A, cover with Hanky, drop Chemical B in. Save you money, get ask around for the chemicals that will make smoke. Rest |

You must be careful with chemicals and not burn your fingers with them, trust me. I did some silly experiments.

Moreover, the chemicals used for "smoke in glass" really smell bad. It's very difficult to hide their smell.

Depending on the effect you are trying to create you could put dry ice in the glass to give the illusion of smoke.

Jay Scott Berry has a video on making smoke.

thekernel left out one small detail. In a glass of dry ice, if you add WATER then it'll make a terrific fog that goes everywhere. It's cheap and neato, and safe.

Kjellstrom, what video of Jay's describes making smoke?
Jordini, out of interest where does one actually buy dry ice, and how do you store it? (Just out of interest as I know it has to be kept in minus temperatures) Kevin |

You don't have to add water to the dry ice for it to make smoke,... just the temperature of the room is enough to make it fog. But jordini is correct about the fact that in warm water it will make alot of fog.
And if you want to know where to buy dry ice,... just look in your yellow pages. It is usually sold in large quantities, but around halloween time they sell some smaller blocks for people that just want some for halloween night. Night_Crawler |

See Mehdi Talbi's Cabaret Magic Video. You just drop a small gimick in a glass and it smokes in 10 seconds.

Montz, I came across "Magician's Smoke" in a spray can. May be an inexpensive way to achieve the effect. Rick

Your local chain ice cream supplier-(baskin robbins to name one) can usually order it for you it sells by the pound, do NOT store it with fruits or vegetables, unless you like them carbonated<strangest tomatoes on a sandwich I ever had!>

I have been looking for a way also to produce smoke in a glass also which can be spun for doing a card routine in a wine glass. All the marketed versions look fake if you ask me and can't be spun. Dry ice may not work for the result I am looking fo but it is worth a try maybe. I would love to hear more ideas.
