Does anyone know where I can see a video of 'Bisection' being performed? I am very interested, and it would be great to hear from you guys. Thanks,
-Dale-

I don't know that this is exactly what you're looking for, but the closest thing to a video demo is the aminated picture on Andrew Mayne's website. You can see it here:

Pretty interesting demo video there Ty. Do you have it, and if you do, how good is it?

SOHartist - No, I don't have Bisection. I was just trying to help out Steiner by pointing him to a mini-demo. There was much debate about the GIF format demo, but it was mostly resolved. It was said by multiple people that the GIF (animated picture) is exactly how the illusion looks. You can check out these links:

If you go to http://www.sleightgeek.com . there is a demo there. You have to search for it. Search "sawing in half" that will get you there.

I just want to say that Bisection is a great trick. I have done it and it is a great closer to a short stage act at the end. Doing it a the last second causes an applause each time i have performed it. Smile
Monte, as in the 3 cards.

Aaah, where'd the other half of his body go?! Incredible!

Has anyone used somthing other than the foam strips that are used to keep the gimmik in place? It doesn't seem that secure or stable with the foam, for me anyway.

I discovered that the inside of a builders hard hat (the part designed to fit your head) works very well. It is easier to put on and take off, holds your head in place far better, and because it isn't solid (it's a bunch of plastic straps) you can put your arm through the back of it and have the gimmick hang on your elbow so the handling is improved plus the coat looks more natural. The only drawback is the depth, but if you handle it right, I'm sure it won't be a problem.

how much prep is needed for this trick, not including the actual making of the gimmick?

Thanks
