Hi all,

This is probably the most extensive review of shells that are currently available on the market, as of this writing.

As I have no commercial interest in any of the manufacturers, this is an impartial review of a variety of shells that I have personally owned and worked with since 1994. While I did not have a chance to review every single shell set on the market, I do cover the most popular shells available.

The shells are all photographed under the same lighting conditions and camera so the colours can be seen in consistent relation to each other.

As the review is pretty long and with multiple photos, you can read the full review here: http://sexymagicreviews.wordpress.com/20......j-c-sum/

Enjoy!

Best,

J C

Good stuff JC! You may want to look at and add the newest DVD available,

"Bob's 3 Shell Boot Camp" by Bob Sheets and Glenn Morphew which is being discussed currently in this same section!

Thank you for your hard work and contributions!

One of the sets I like are the copper shells from the School for scoundrels. I have used them in quite a few shows. I like the weight and they look very classy. I used them when I was booked at the castle and on my second DVD - because they have a very expensive classy look to them (in my opinion)

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

Thanks for a great article, J.C.!

Small corrections. My name is spelled "Haydn" not "Hadyn."

The Chanin Tribute Shells are a School for Scoundrels product, designed on a set of Jack Chanin's shells in my collection. They are made by Black Fox for School for Scoundrels.

The Trade Show Shells were so outlandishly large, there was no attempt to make them look "natural." They are meant to be bright and cartoony looking. They are incredible traffic stoppers on the Trade Show floor. People can't walk past without stopping and wondering if "They are what they look like." The method for working these shells is original and quite practical.

When I started to do the shell game I used a set of the old Adams plastic set. Then I got a set of vernet shells. Good books on the shell game there were a few but no way there was anything as like there is today.

There are so many great products at the SFS and a lot of very good DVD's that are off the charts great.

The video of - "Bob's Three Shell Boot Camp" by Bob Sheets and Glenn Morphew. Is really great.

I wish there was "THAT" kind of great stuff available when I was starting out.

Cheers!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions anc corrections here and through PMS.

Whit - sorry! Bad mistake, mind my had your name correct but my fingers did not. All has been amended. I agree the trade show shells are to look outlandish but personally would have preferred a less "brain-like" look. Smile

This is a organic article so will always be added to and corrected.

Thanks.

Did you just accuse Whit of having PMS?

It is a great review.... Thanks.
I also agree "Bob's Three Shell Boot Camp" by Bob Sheets and Glenn Morphew is a fantastic introduction to the three shell game.

The Boot Camp and School for Scoundrels vol.1 and vol.2 DVDs are some of my very favorite dvds. They have made me very advanced with the shells.

100% agree!
"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."
"The dog did nothing in the night-time."
"That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes.
