Just thought I'd chime in for a second here ::
I've had a lot of people send me a link to this thread and ask me if Avenger knew anything about my calculator app. I don't know anything about Avenger, but I do know that this App is something I have been working on and that people have known about for a while. In no way am I accusing theft, just thought I would give a heads up 
I started working on my calculator app over 2 years ago and had a working program a year ago that I was showing around at conventions across the states. So far it has gotten rave reviews from many of the top pro's like Banachek, Alain Nu, Max Kraus, Chris Kenner, Michael Weber, Eric Mead and so on. The app is currently being approved by Apple Inc. and should be available very soon! What AddEx allows you to do is reveal the calculated number that numerous spectators have added, subtracted, multiplied and so on, much similar to Banachek and Gene Protuse's effect PsyCal. AddEx uses the iPhone Calculator (which is why it is having a hard time getting approved) The effect can be IMMEDIATELY repeated how ever many times you want WITHOUT you ever having to touch the phone. The calculator can be used as a normal calculator until you are ready to perform at which time THE SPECTATOR engages the program for you without even knowing
Even your magic buddies can borrow your phone and perform the effect, with different outcomes EVER TIME!!! I have had a lot of fun performing this over this past years and I hope you guys have fun with it!!! Daniel Garcia

As Danny mentioned I had the opportunity to see this at Magic Live last year and it is everything Danny says and more. As a matter of fact prior to seeing this I was already working on a version of this myself and called to talk to Danny about it. When he told me he had already done it, I immediately discontinued the work on mine.
I know that Danny's version has been around for at least 2 years as mentioned and I also know that it is currently in the app store waiting for approval. Best regards, Max

Having seen and had the beta version of Addex for quite some time I will say this is the cleanest method I've ever seen. When I have had permission from Daniel to show another professional magician aside from the "Wow factor" Most have said "That's way to good" or "let's keep this to ourselves"
I have floored laymen and working pro's alike. Not so much with what the app does but how clean and versatile it is..... Glad and sad that Addex is coming out after so many years but I know it's going to hit the app market by storm.... As always, Alex Rangel |

I have an App "MagiCalc" that I wrote almost 2 years ago and has only been given to a handful of working pro's but we felt it was too good to release to the general public on iTunes.

There is an app call fastcall in itunes its a magic apps and works exatcly like that.

Avenger, your page states that this works on IOS 4. Has it been tested on IOS 5? I am jailbroken but don't want to go back to 4 to be able to use your app.
Carl, I have been watching for quite some time for you to release your version. I was wondering what the status was. Good luck Daniel, Apple is way too finicky when it comes to altering their existing functionality. A jailbroken version may be the only way yours sees the light of day. Or you can simply send me a beta version to try out. I'd be good either way.

Chris, I knew Apple would not approve my App because it looks exactly like their calculator so I just sold it to a few people by word of mouth setting them up on my developer team and sending them an adhoc copy to run. Now there is a way to do the same type of effect without an App and using a borrowed iPhone so I lost all interest in going any further with my App. Seems it's really not needed, although it is really cool

I am actually now in NC Bill Duncan is the one who told me about the borrowed iPhone method and I think he may be putting it out in a booklet. I will have to check with him and see if that is so and if it is something I can share. Feel free to email me to remind me as I am not always on this forum. I believe it is an old principle that a lot of people are just not aware of and it is a fooler! |
