I think it looks ok, plausible... As far as a Super Soldier with an indestructible Shield could be plausible...

It makes his bum look big.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Not bad. More street looking.

There are actual photos from on set of a stunt man in the suit (possibly a stunt suit, so may not be accurate to the real suit on film.)
There are a few sites that have them, but in general, I tend to follow superherohype.com

It's a shame they're wasting such great costume design on such a worthless movie.

For Johnston, the imperative is artistic one, not a commercial one. He wants a character that’s more complicated than a flag and a movie that entertains without borders. Yeah, you wouldn't want to make out Captain America to be too American, or anything... The rest of the world? Hey, just call him Captain World or Captain Planet! |

I read somewhere that when it comes to fiming there isn't actually a CA costume, just the actor wearing a green jumpsuit to which they add CGI costuming.

Gdw, superherohype.com is where I got that link from.
Anyway, I think they wanted a more "tactical" look...

The idea is, in the film, And by the way ****SPOILERS**** That should be enough space, after he is given the Super Solider serum, the guy who created the formula is killed in an attempt to steal the formula, so Steve is the only "super soldier" ever made. As he is such an invaluable investment now, the government doesn't want to loose him in battle, so they use him as a propaganda piece basically, touring with the USO to boost morale. During this time he is in a costume a bit closer to his comic counter part. Steve resents this, and wishes he could be actually doing something more. He goes MIA more or less, but in the process, he realizes that he can still fight, while also being a morale booster utilizing the image they created of him. So, he essentially recreates the uniform, but with actual "tactical" bits and such. Supposedly, throughout the film it evolves a bit, I guess over a brief time as he first puts on what he has, and then adds a bit as he goes. By the end, he may end up in a full suite provided by the military, assuming he goes on "official" action I guess before he takes his ice bath, or, he may just have the same suit he slapped together right up till then, and only get an upgrade when he Assembles ***END SPOILERS****

It's all about the shield for me. It has got to be realistic and not tricked out with gaffs and gimmicks.

I always enjoyed Cap. I think making him less America-centric will detract from his original design, we will see. Anyone remember Union Jack from the Defenders?
