No offense to any of the coin manufacturers, but a stack is something a jeweler can do a fine job of creating with little difficulty. I am not certain but it seems like asking one of these gaff makers to make a stack is like telling an architect to design a shed. At the end of the day, you are putting holes in coins. have these guys make your shells and flippers and things only they are able to make. A jeweler would be lost trying to make one of these things. Jewelers however do a fine job of making a Ramsay stack and metal workers too. I had a metal worker make my first stack and then a jeweler make my second stack. The jeweler did a better job and was able to thin out the top coin, making it lighter, however since you want the gimmick to still have some weight, I do not see why you would want to lighten it. The jeweler was also able to go super close to the edge and make the whole thing super solid. I have dropped it twice on a very hard surfaces, and it was fine. Now if you want a magnetic movable stack, that's a different story.

Today you'd have to do some thinking about what your audience would not expect you have have done to make a gaff that effective.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Anybody know if Dean Dill's work on the Cylinder and Coins is forthcoming?
Dean was one of my all-time favorite magicians. I hope that something is still in the works. Best, MJ |

I was fortunate enough to be given several of the special cylinders Dean made for his Cylinder & Coin routine. His routine starts out per the standard routine but what a kicker ending!
