Hey, does anyone know of a source for single headed coins (blank one side, face on the other?) Euro ideally, but US currency is OK?

I have shaved down coins for people wanting this type of effect causing one side to be shinny silver and the other side to have a regular coin, But to buy from a vendor I havent seen anything out there on the market.

I've never seen a Euro coin with a face on it, if you mean a coin with a true face on it.

Wth, never heard of this before. I never thought about erasing the reverse of an actual silver Morgan, Peace, Walking Liberty or Kennedy/Franklin half to render it worthless for a routine, but that is the numismatist talking.
But I'm willing to do it for current coins and maybe an Eisenhower. |

I know the trick the mint has one in it! But anyone who makes double face coins should be able to make one for you!

These used to be quite popular with gamblers. It's called a shiner. One side is highly polished, so you end up with basically a mirror on one side of the coin. Just don't get caught at the poker game with one...
I'm pretty sure I've seen these on Lassen's site, but some varying levels of sand paper (down to VERY fine) would do the trick. This is definitely the type of gaff you could do at home at least passably, I'd think. Then again, add up all that sandpaper cost and time, plus a scrap coin, and it may be better just to buy one. |
