I got this a couple of weeks ago from Stevens Magic and wanted to do a review of it:
http://www.stevensmagic.com/index.php?ma......d=112354 If you are a beginner or amateur looking for the latest DVD of tricks, then this is not for you. This is more for the person who has been in magic for a while, and is ready to "step up their game." This is an audio CD of telephone interviews that Millard did with sixteen working professionals (C.J. Johnson, Julian Franklin, Michael Finney, Doc Eason, Tim Mannix, Kenton Knepper, Pop (Whit) Haydn, Steve Axtell, Marc DeSouza, Jim Snack, Eddy Wade, Jeff Hobson, Eric Paul, Greg McMahon, Jack Turk, and Chris Capehart). This covered numerous topics such as close-up magic, platform magic, bar magic, school shows, kid shows, being a part time pro, comedy, balloons, marketing, and the list goes on. Millard knew the right questions to ask to get the most information from each of these pros. This is not a short CD...I have been listening to it in my car going back and forth to work (I'm taking Michael Ammar's advice) for the past two weeks, and I'm still not finished with it, and I'm learning lots, and you will as well. Is this a perfect item? No...the audio quality could have been better. You have to consider that this is a recording of phone conversations, so there were some interesting volume fluctuations, and occasional phone noises, but, to me, these were minor, considering the wealth of information shared here. Also, the CD is not cheap ($65, and this includes shipping), but you do the math...private lessons or lectures from all 16 of these people are going to cost you tons more than a measly $65. This is a sleeper, and I would highly recommend it. Bob Phillips |

I am finally getting to the end. Listening to Whit Haydn talk about creating a character, and Steve Axtell talking about using puppets either with or without magic I found very valuable.
