So many of you know that the Out of Sleight project was once just a simple cups and balls routine. Well, that's changing a bit. We are rereleasing the site with a whole new face lift and gobs of great content. We are going in a new direction, helping the actual working magician. With that said, we are working on some great new effects as well.
A shameless plug as that might have seemed, this is not why I am writing. I just left our Nashville production studio shooting some of the most incredible and priceless content about the Cups and Balls available. Here's the story; It was 12 noon and I just finished my radio show. Soon as we signed off the air I got a phone call from our favorite "go-to guy" for the cups and balls, Mr. Bill Palmer. The following conversation took place... Bill: "Lee, this is Bill." Lee: "Hi Bill, what's up?" Bill: "I'm coming to Nashville. I will call you when I land" Phone: "Click" Lee: "What? Hello? Bill...?" During his flight to Nashville I got to thinking about the OutOfSleight.com project. It was a no brainer! We have to get Bill Palmer. I scrambled to get a videographer as well as some lights and cameras (not too hard when you work for a production company) and when he landed I bribed him with a sandwich wrap from the local Café'. What followed tonight was an AMAZING 2 hour interview with Bill Palmer exclusively about the Cups and Balls. We covered EVERYTHING you could imagine. How he got into the trick, the history, his favorite cups, cups that no one even knows about, books and video everyone should research, differences in cups with cups in hand, the list goes on and on. A wealth of knowledge just poured out on camera like I have never seen. I can't wait for people to see this content! Like I said, its priceless! So, I guess that means I can't put a price on it. As we edit it, we will be releasing the content to be viewed online absolutely free. I was really honored to be able to meet with Bill and make this possible and it's also my honor to make it available to those who truly love the cups and balls. And don't worry... there won't be any exposure of the effect in the content. This is insight into the original classic of magic by one of the foremost experts. What a night! Video will be posted after it goes through editing and processing. I know this can not happen fast enough for most people (myself included) so to hold you over I will post some pictures from the shoot tonight... check back in a few moments! -Lee & outofsleight.com (which is under construction but you can explore around) |

I can say this. Those who's patients are shorter than a Paul Fox mini cup may want to follow the twitter account. I most likely will update that first since it's directly connected to my cell phone. However, that's not to say it won't still be awhile :-p
http://www.twitter.com/outofsleight The editor is just now transferring the footage and quality video takes time. That why it will be released piece by piece. Also, just for the Café' family to know... this is the first and currently only discussion on the project. I felt that this community (specifically the Ever so Sleightly section) deserved to know first. Sadly that also means you have to be the most patient. In this case ignorance might have been bliss for many. I know I can't wait either! -Lee & OutOfSleight.com |

Way cool; I never really realized how much bill Palmer resembles the late Burl Ives; or even the late Col. Sanders as far as that goes.

Nice big chip on those. Most folks are using them for video rather than stills.
The TV series "24" is using a whole bunch of them. Very good for action shots in very tight areas.
